Site Needs Artist

The Mythusmage site should be going up in a few days. Right now it's a pure text site. I'm looking for an artist to illustrate the place.

Must be good, and able to work in a naturalistic style. Nature book stuff and that sort of thing.

Pay: I can't offer more than the possibility of an equal share of any moneys donated to Mythusmage. Should any of the material to be displayed on the site see book publication, I shall endeavour to see that the art is used as well, and that the artist shares equally in any proceeds.

Rights: The artist retains all rights to his work. All I get is permission to display his art on Mythusmage. That permission may be withdrawn at any time. Drop me a line to that effect and I'll delete the art immediately.

I'm offering a place to show your work, to give you more exposure. It is something of a gamble, and success is not guaranteed. So if you're willing to take a chance, drop me a line via the email button below this message.

At this time I must ask the moderators to lock this thread. I don't want a repeat of the last time I made this request. The boards have more important things to babble about. As I said above, reply to this posting via private email (button below) and let's see what we can work out.

No, still looking for an artist. "Retains all rights" means he can sell the art work to others should he find buyers. Do prints of the popular ones etc. As I noted before, the artist who wins the "contract" would be taking a chance. But one I feel will pay in the long run.

Now, how are you with dinosaurs? Specifically, dromaeosaurid dinosaurs. That's what I'm basing my alternate basilisks on. Basilopteryx. Drop me an email and I'll send the description for the Greater Plains Basilisk.

It would help me and others if you could post the contract here, please. Can we do write ups of our dinosaurs?

i still think the offer sucks

Nobody says you have to accept it.

Now, are you an artist, and is your art on the web? If the answer to the first is a "yes", and the answer to the second is a "no", check out free site hosts and get it up. If you'd druther not have Mythusmage display your work, having your own gallery is the way to go.

BTW, there are better ways to express your opinion of something you dislike than using profanity. Something along the lines of, "This does not sound like a viable project to me." for example. Makes you sound more erudite for one thing.

One more thing. If you are an artist, how would you do a scene with a pack of dromaeosaurids trotting through a patch of brush? Passing by the head of a sleeping green dragon?

(I'm whimsical, deal with it.:D)

Things are nebulous right now. I can draw up an informal contract. Not lawyer tight, but enforceable on Judge Judy or a similar show.

Dinosaur write-ups? Don't see why not.

(I now turn my attention to those who have chosen to be negative. Pennywiz and all others who have decided to take this in a positive manner, it applies not to you.)

You two (and you know who you are) have shown me, and others on the boards, that you are not the kind of people it is worthwhile getting to know. You are rude, inconsiderate, impolite, and plain disagreeable. Your humor is feeble and your wit lacking. I strongly doubt you will ever produce anything of value. Or that you will ever find work in the RPG field of any sort.

I expect that after reading this you'll rant and rave, reinforcing my opinon of you, and that of others. But this will be the last response I make to anything you write on this thread. I have important things to do (getting a web site up and running for one) and so shall ignore what you post. Maybe by this measure I can increase the signal to noise ratio.

Rant away, knowing you are amusing me with your antics.

(Sorry about the above, folks. This will be the last time I respond in that manner on this thread. I shall do my best to make my replies to your postings more on the lines of my replies to Pennywiz. I hope to keep this from degenerating into the debacle that was Artist Wanted.
