just noticed there's no Skill Focus / Skill Emphasis feat in d20 Modern.

what's up with that?

It is built-in the Dedicated Hero Insightful talent tree. It gives +3 to a single skill.

My noble took skill emphasis in Star Wars... Along with a 16 Cha and Bluff as a bonus skill for the synergy she had a diplomacy check of +13 at 2nd level...

good catch, Trainz, i totally missed that on my first read-through.

i know there's a bunch of +2/+2 feats, but what about for skills that aren't covered by them? and the good thing about skill emphasis/focus was that it stacked with them.

i don't know, Crothian, i've seen a few PCs (and many of my NPCs) with Skill Emphasis in my Star Wars campaign.

on closer look, it seems there's quite a few things that were feats in 3e or d20 SW that are now the sole purview of some class. i don't know how i feel about that yet.

I've had characters with the feat as well. However, having been in more then a few campaigns and played in amny con games, I'd have to say that my experience has shown me very few peopole take this feat. There are too many good feats for many people to rationalizing taking this. I've also heard from people who regreted taking this feat.

I'm planning to have my character in AngelsBoi's Tomorrow People pbp game take Skill Emhpasis (Profession) when he gains his next level (He'll become a Fast 1/Dedicated 1).

In Star Wars, Skill Emphasis is unbelievably awesome with Force Skills.

You know, I think that, instead of 3405974305897 +2/+2 feats, they should just have one feat called "Synergy," that grants a +2 bonus to two related skills, approved by the GM. Save a few bucks on printing costs, and make it more flexable.
