Skill points acquiring

Been knocking around ideas with a friend for some homebrewed adjustements they'll all appear piece by piece here for comments.

Skill points as follows.

Use base class allotment assign to skills as normal, including class skill costs but not the half the value cap.

Add strength, dex and Con modifier and divide by 2 round down, these skill points can be used on any skill that relies on str dex or con 1:1 or others 2:1

Add int, wis and cha modifier and divide by 2 round down, these skill points can be used on any skill that relies on int wis or cha 1:1 or others 2:1

(also should say we're probbaly going to use something like 2+4d4 so stats with an average around 12 and a tighter bell curve than normal)

The intent is to give fighter types more skillpoints for the physical skills without having to have a higher intelligence, while keeping casters as the studious knowledgable ones. I'm assuming here that casters have the high mental stats and fighters the high physical, often not the case but i'm generalising a lot here.

So you will end up giving rogues an even bigger boost.

They already get 8 sp/level and most of their "real useful" skills are Dex based with their primary stat again being Dex. Move Silently, Hide, Open Lock,

Be careful for what on the surface appears to be an "easy" fix usually ends up with some broken edges that can (and will) be exploited.

Bards will end up with a big boost too - with Cha based skills.

Sorcerers will end up, like fighters gaining something reasonable but the the other heavy skill based classes will get a rather largish bump.

I think you are failing to take a few things into account with your critizism. If this is using 4d4 +2 that is a very tight bell curve so stats are unlikly to be that high. No matter where you put your stats with a take the average round down you are going to have only 1-2 points to split between physical skills and 1 - 2 points in mental skills. This is a huge boost to fighters who have int as a dump stat and usually gain zip, nothing, nada. Rogues on the other hand frequently put a high stat in Int gaining this many points anyway so they don't gain or lose. This will make little difference to classes which typically put Int high but a huge boost to those that don't.

How will bards end up with a huge boost using this?
