Slashing Unarmed attack?

Vorpal Strike [Epic]

Essentially the unarmed strike is a slashing vorpal weapon (which doesn't stack with similar abilities), or a non vorpal bludgeoning weapon.

And I second Shilsen's motion.

Also note that with Versatile Unarmed Strike, an unarmed Monk/Dervish becomes viable (and pretty cool).

Neat point. With a good Int, 3 levels of Swashbuckler, some Duelist levels and then the rest with monk, you can get some serious ass-whopping potential with no reliance for armour. Huh... interesting.

And stepping slightly outside of WotC, Paizo's DCv1 has the feat Ring the Golden Bell, which allows a PC to use unarmed strikes at a range determined by wisdom.

Imagine that Monk/Dervish doing his nastiness at range...

Kinda like using a polearm - except cooler! It's only usable 1+Wis mod per day, but a monk would be focusing on Wisdom.

Hmmm, For this build you pretty much need everything except for Cha. Might have to go skimpy on Dex and Str, but you need them less since Int and Wis are fueling all your other abilities (AC, to hit, and damage bonuses which will stack up nicely).

Neat points, all around; really makes me want to play a monk like this.

Don't skimp on the Dex if you want to use RtGB- since you're trying to fight at range, you'll need it both for your AC and your to-hit rolls, as well as AoOs such a build will gain.
