Slaves of the Dragon (orsal judging)

"I've got a very bad feeling about this," Jack reiterates.

"I'm going to go keep an eye on Opale," he suggests, "just in case..." Once again, he slips out of the barn.

Heading over toward Jeline's house, Jack does his best to blend in with the scenery, inconspicuously strolling down the side of the street. He finds an unobtrusive spot across the street from Jeline's place, and settles in to watch and wait, nonchalantly chewing on an apple to pass the time.

Jeline tries to stop Opale again, but this time, she already said her sentence. Leading her a bit outside the village, she hisses "Let's hope no kobold heard your words about adventurers. Kobolds are almost anywhere, they even built an underground complex connecting to several houses, to better control us." Almost begging, she adds "What about Sina?"

Jack: You arrive just in time to see Marl/Opale and Jeline leaving the house, and (I presume), decide to follow, allowing you to hear Jeline scolding, then begging to Opale.

"Sina is presently in Orussus, at the Red Dragon Inn. Joe, the owner, is taking care of her. You can be sure she'll be alright and well treated. Joe is the best innkeeper of all Orussus, and his tavern is the most secure one. A merchant came with Sina. She was crying and she told us something she had seen before she ran away.

Can you tell me on the events that happen lately in the village? And how are you living with the kobolds. You talked about tunnels. And what can you tell me about Eskaron?"

As they walk away, Jack thinks long and hard about taking the chance to slip into Jeline's house for a look around...

Jeline sighs with relief hearing that her daughter is safe. "Good... good... while she is strong for her age, she is still a child... even an adventurer's child shouldn't be confronted with that.

What recently happened? Aside from Sina running away, the usual you can expect in a secretly occupied town. Giving our dues to the kobolds, by processions to a clearing in the south. Then there was the execution of Meras, who continually claimed Eskaron not to be a dragon. Sina wanted to see if she could save him, and nothing I did prevented her from going... if only I had locks on the doors...
The tunnels - the kobolds dug them in the first years, to better control us. Marl's house is one of the few not connected to the tunnels... don't know why. Eskaron, well, he is the master of the kobolds, a dragon. Can change between human and dragon form, and cast spells."

Jack: You find the door unlocked. As you search through the house, you hear voices from below. From the experience with the kobolds on the road, you conclude that they are kobold voices.

"Meras. That's what your daugther said, that the dragon had killed someone. It is the reason we are here.

We've met some kobold on our way. There leader is named Z'zess. We learn from them they were searching for your daugther. They are escorted to another town as prisoner presently. What do you know about that kobold? And the others, do you know how much there is, and you generally see them alone or in group?"

Jack takes one quick last look around the house to memorize any details that might have the slightest importance. Checking to make double certain that no one saw him enter and that no one will see him leave, he sneaks back out of the house. He quickly, but quietly heads off in the direction that Jeline and Opale walked off in, hoping to catch up and keep an eye on things from the shadows...

"Z'zess? One of the few who'd talk normally to us, but still a kobold. I don't know how many are here, but there's one priest, several warriors, and maybe a caster. They always come in groups of at least eights."

Jack, confident no one has seen him, arrives where Opale and Jeline are talking, catching the last sentence.
