Slaves of the Dragon (orsal judging)

"What, would you have prefered to leave Jeline with the idea that her girl could have been killed? Do you have a kid? Have you taken care of one once? I am no mother but my cousin, Rinaldo, have three kids, and the small Salvador is just a little treasure. I can barely imagine what she was living, but it should have been a nightmare for sure. Now, she knows that her kid is safe, and we have an ally here. And getting info from people isn't a speciality reserve to you. I used to do it before I start my studies.

But I agree to the next steps. We should not stay much longer. Continuing our road will be best, and we could find the others and see what they have found. And with some luck, there could be a few thing to learn if we can find that place to the south were the village do the offering to the 'dragon'."

Katherine looks at the other woman with suprise and then, frankly, contempt. "Lets get on with this, assuming they let us out of here without a fight."

"I'd rather you hadn't run off like that on your own..."

"Well, she was exactly alone," Jack adds with a small grin.

"Kate's right, though... We're starting to overstay our welcome. It doesn't sound like any in town entirely trusts us just yet, and there's kobold warrens running everywhere underground. It'd be best best if we left first thing in the morning."

After a little thought, Jack continues, "After we leave, I can always circle back and stake out the town. It wouldn't be too tough for me to stay out of sight and keep an eye on things... Those kobolds'll probably get lazy once we're gone."

katherine sighs and says in halfling,
"And if she had taken the time to discuss things and request that aid, I would be less annoyed, but in any case I thank you for backing her up whether she had the sense to ask or not."

"not a bad idea, though we would need a signal or a set time to meet...."

"Unless someone here knows bigger magic than they claim to, I don't think we'll be able to send quick messages, and signals are too conspicuous... Especially those that can be seen from miles away. Pick a spot outside of town somewhere. I'll wait there for an hour at sunset and an hour at sunrise." Jack suggests.

Listening to the conversation, Farid shrugs, "Seems there is little for me to do here... they said this isn't much the place to gather supplies, is that correct? Should we just take the rest of the day off? Or is leaving today a better idea?"

(ok, rewrapping my brain for this: You're setting out immediately, and Jack circles back?)

Jack tries to remember the words spoken by the kobolds, but they seem to blur together (Int check total 8). A few bits can be understood by Katherine and Opale:

[sblock]...possibly... ambush?...Usual...[/sblock]

The group sets out, cautiously, always on the lookout of a potential attack by the kobolds. As you reach a watchtower in the south - which seems empty, a mounted figure closes in from the south. You quickly determine it is Thanyvan.

(Due to the circumstances, I'm NPCing Thanyvan.)

As Thanyvan, Jack prepares himself for spying on the village...

He eyes the watchtower, "This'll be as good a spot as any for a rendevous. If I'm not up in the tower, I'll be watching nearby."

Jack unloads his pack from Rover, and asks someone to keep an eye on the huge dog for him. "It'll be easier without him tagging along," he explains.

Finally, he asks, "Does anyone have an old worn-out tunic I could use?"
