Slaves of the Dragon (orsal judging)

Opale recharge her crossbow and looks around, seeing the melee calm down. She puts back her crossbow on her back and walk up to Katerine.

Katerine said:
"We spend the night in a town then defend ourselves against attackers and that dooms the town? You aren't making a lot of sense, my dear."

Opales only nods to approve what she has said.

The Dwarf Psion regards the two corpses at his feet with a mixture of pride and disgust. His mixed gaze is directed toward the surviving Kobolds and he frowns.

Katherine, he refers to the person in the group who acts most like a leader (in his eyes) What are we to do with these bodies?

If ordered, he will attempt to stabilize them (Heal +2). Otherwise, he will confirm his kills and make sure that they are dead (Coup de Grace). It is obvious to anyone which outcome the Dwarf prefers, though he is unwilling to act beyond what the group deems fit. Either way, the Dwarf will rifle through their bodies for valuables and equipment. He will also retrieve the dagger he threw.

Veras-Re's stature diminishes ever so slightly as his psychometabolic reinforcement wears off.

"Those two are surrendering" Katherine says absently as she heals Farid.

"Well, that's no fun," Jack mutters with a sigh and a slight slump in his shoulders. "Oh well... Giddown, Rover," he tells his dog, and motions his captive to stay put with a tap beneath the chin from the pointy end of his rapier.

Quarion spits. He says sharply in elven, "We regretted taking prisoners last time. Let us not make the same mistake again. Interrogate them, find out what we need, and then end their miserable lives." Quarion goes to Garma and leads him to Katherine for a healing.

Heal for Garma (1d8+1=7)

Katherine says shortly,
"nothing to fear there"
as she lays about with the wand. (ooc:slag, use all you want, we'll buy more. ;) I consider even a cantrip more valuable than a charge on a wand, unless the wand is very low, which mine isn't.)

To Veras, she says calmly, "End their suffering." She adds to the lead kobald, "no need to make their ends slower, yes?"

"Opale or Rika, could you check with the minions on why we should accept a surrender at this stage? I'm more interested in what these petty brigands have to do with Grenton." She continues to observe the presumed cleric intently.

ooc:[sblock]bluff +5, Sense motive +6 and Diplomacy +9. (unless we got more than 550 XP, heh heh.... ;) ) Katherine is trying to give the kobald the impression that they have no idea of the connection between Grenten and the lizards and draw out any specific details of what the kobald's (and ?dragon?'s) next plans will be for the village... also if the kobald was supposed to bring them back as prisoners/corpses... which could lead to a fun plan. :] [/sblock]

Random rules/strategy muse ooc: [sblock]I so wish there was a low level spell/ability/trustable rule to act as a sort of geas but voluntarily accepted. Its within both logic and narrative structure for petty minions to switch sides if sufficiently wupped on, but all I can think of is a massive intimidate check (the only 'social' skill katherine doesn't have,) and keeping them close by.... hmmm.... given the circumstances, of the minions wanting to surrender (not the leader, who seems cocky in his loserdom) could a diplomacy check replace intimidate for the same general results? If these guys were supposed to bring us back for dramatic execution to teach Grenton a lesson, we have a classic trap setup here....[/sblock]

hp: 6/6

"You seem to have the leader of there group there." Opale says in Common, pointing the cleric.

She turns to the group. "And can two or three persons can see what happen to the kobold who was in the animated plants. I wouldn't like to see him coming back with more friends for now."

She comes back to the cleric and she watch him for a moment. "Most likely to be resisted, but it will be of no use against the dragon..." she starts some incantation. (OOC: Charm Person on the kobold) She then starts to speak in kobold.

[SBLOCK]"I would be interested to know why you've attacked us. What have we done to annoy your group to the point of worth the trouble of killing us?"[/SBLOCK]

As she speaks, Naga get out of her robes and crawl up to her neck and seems to surround her in a protective way, intensivly watching the kobold.

"Good idea. Can someone take care of this bugger for me?" Jack prods his captive with his rapier. "I can ride out on Rover and see if I can catch the strays."

OOC: There was the one kobold caught in the Entangle spell... What about the spellcaster (#7)? I can't seem to figure out what happened to that one. Are there any others who got away?

At Jack's request, Quarion clicks his tongue and nods toward the kobold. Garma, now fully healed, dashes over and pounces on the kobold. He growls menacingly and his jaws open wide. "Garma! No!" Quarion yells at his canine friend. Garma gives the dirty elf a nasty look. Quarion smiles darkly and says in Sylvan, "Soon, my friend. It is almost lunch time, is it not?" He turns to the sky to check the position of the sun and then quickly looks back to the scene before him. With an arrow still nocked, his drawn bow is still aimed for the cleric-leader. He nods to Jack.

Veras-Re finishes off the Kobolds as ordered. He wears a grim smile upon his face while he regards the ruined corpses and the bloodstained stave. The Dwarf cleans off his stave with he rag he calls a cloak then keeps an eye out for any more approaching.
