OSR Smaller Than Small-Size Characters?

So, in B/X and its derivatives (OSE, LL), halflings (and in later supplements other really small races that, in 5E, have the Small size category) have the following ability:
Due to their small size and skills at dodging, halflings/gnomes/etc. have a bonus of -2 on their Armor Class when being attacked by creatures larger than man-sized.
What would you do with an even smaller race? I'm fiddling around with a couple of homebrew races that are even smaller -- like one or two feet tall -- and I'm wondering if they should have a larger bonus or not. They are already limited in that all weapons sized for them do 1d4 damage maximum, and obviously any armor they use needs to be specially-made. But is it enough? Has anyone used something similar and have results they're willing to share?

If you want an official D&D example, the old Hollow World boxed set has Kubitts, who are about a foot and a half tall. However, they don't have a listed bonus to AC when fighting larger creatures; their AC is noted as being the same as a full sized character wearing equivalent armor, even though Kubitt plate would have to be incredibly thin.

They get a +2 bonus to Dex (which is rare in the BECMI era), maximum strength of 13, use tiny weapons that deal less damage (a Kubitt two handed sword deals 1d6 damage) and are supposed to be logically limited by their size, but they are very strong for their scale and so don't suffer any penalties to movement speed. They can also sneak around like thieves of the same level.

Tiny characters can not use Heavy weapons and take disadvantage when using weapons for medium sized characters (including light and versatile weapons)

Tiny characters can only carry 1/2 as much as larger characters, but only need 1/4 rations

Tiny characters get +2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws

Tiny characters can occupy the same space as another creature but must make a dexterity check to move through difficult terrain

AND if youre only allowing 1d4 damage then thats balanced enough afaik
