personally Chloe's always seemed the pathetic one to me. i mean how many times does she have to say "they love each other" for her to actually get it. she says that one minute and then whines that Clarke doesn't love her the next.

Lana OTOH, is more annoying than anything else. i've just gotten realy tired of the "Clarke, you're just being jealous" followed by the "you were right all along" scenes.

But isn't this the kind of crap these teen shows are all about in the first place?

I have the feeling none of us would watch this show if it wasn't for the Superman connection.

it's the idea that he suddenly WANTS to wear it that seemed to be out of character...

It's not sudden. He didn't just up and decide "You know what? I feel like putting on a red kryptonite ring, today". He was responsible for the death of his younger sibling. That's a pretty traumatic event. Who WOULDN'T want to be free of the intense guilt and grief which he was feeling?

y'know, you're absolutely right about that. it's the only thing that kept me thru most of last season. ... not to mention back from season one.

And even that wasn't enough for some of us.

I finally gave up toward the end of last season. I'm a Superman fan, but I can't take any more of Smallville 90210. If Lana dies in a hideous car accident, I might consider coming back.

Until then, it's Enterprise before Angel on Wednesdays.

I just got into Smallville recently. I am a huge Superman fan and kind of avoided this show due to the 90210 rep it seemed to have. But I started watching it recently and was pleasantly surprised. The two part season premiere was really cool.

Although, I noticed that the next episode seems to be moving back in a more static TV show mode instead of in continuing story arc mode.

Personally, I think they should keep the story moving forward continuously and even up to and including his transformation into Superman in the next two or three seasons and I'll be an even bigger fan than I am now.

The soap opera stuff is good. Soap opera is the secret to Marvel's success. If they can keep it up and move into full blown comic book universe style show then that would be way cool.

Heh, Enterprise is the one I gave up on. I started watching one episode early last season and thought to myself 'I don't feel like watching this right now' and have seen an episode since.

I never quite got there with Smallville, though I have come close.
