Ya, this lana is fiendishly clever and kinda evil is way out of left field. The non lex/lana parts of the show are great though!!

Lana as manipulative witch. Well, at least it's something different than the doe-eyed "I don't want to be lonely" or raging "you kept secrets from me!" attitudes she usually goes through.

And signs of Lois Lane, relentless investigative reporter are always a good thing.

That said, I liked this one, and is a good intro for Ollie's "heroic" persona. I especially like how at the end he challenged Clark's beliefs/values, along with the "there's a whole world out there that needs people like us" and "you can't wait for them to come to you" lines. I did smirk at the "you've got abilities I can't even comprehend," as I'm thinking that he ain't seen nothing yet. Be interesting when/if he talks shop with some of the other heroes that have shown up, as he comes to realize Clark is only slightly slower than the Flash, can "flak jacket" a bundle of C-4 w/ no lasting damage, and is as strong (if not stronger) than a cutting-edge technology cyborg.

At least Clark realizes that he really did screw up with Lana.

Here's to hoping Oliver's advice sinks in and Clark starts getting a bit more pro-active in his super-heroing. Doesn't mean he should don a union-suit just yet.

I enjoyed it, lots of good stuff in this one, the divid between Lana and Clark and her bad side. Lois. Green Arrow and Clark discussing the hero business, if you can't have Batman the Green Arrow is a very good chioce.

Does anyone know the reason why Bruce/Batman couldn't be on smallville. I mean the right to both are owned by Warner Bros. The CW is partly onwned by Warner.

I think the decision was not to muddy the waters with the new Batman film series. The idea came up a little bit ago, just as Batman Begins was coming out. Why nobody seemed to care about Superman Returns, I guess was because Smallville was already around by then.
