Smallville: Season One Revisited

I missed most of Season One, and I've been getting back into watching the DVD collection. So far, I'm about half-way done. Some interesting things occur to me, too.

1. The total reluctance to tell Lana? Given that Lana has always obsessed about her dead parents, Clark might be thinking 'My ship probably brought the meteors to Smallville in it's backwash; technically I had a hand in killing her parents'. Now that she's mainly worked through those feelings? Who knows.

2. The Luthorcorp plant. OK, in Jitters, we first find out about Level Three. Apparently, that's going to come into play time and time again as we find out more about Lionel's interest in Kryptonite. Corn being sprayed with a green mist, causing it to grow twice as fast.. then the experiment being discontinued, the plans to the place being redrawn to erase all existance of the huge facility... Obviously by now, Lionel must know that exposure to Kryptonite gives some people and things miraculous powers in an unpredicatable fashion. So where does he get the hundreds of pounds of refined Kryptonite that was in his safe? And what does he plan to do with it? What can exposure to that much pure Kryptonite do to a person...?

3. Nixon, the tabloid guy. OK, now I know where Lex got that computer analysis of the crash. Knowing that Lex has some compelling evidence that he did in fact hit Clark (and he's held onto that evidence, despite what he tells Clark) puts a different spin on the Clark/Lex relationship.
