Snakes on a Plane (no spoilers please!)

When that line came, half the theater I was in called it out with him.

The audience made the movie one of the most fun I've ever been to.

I saw the movie last night, and waited patiently for the line. No one called it out, but everyone clapped and cheered after he said it.

I went into this movie wanted to see it, but knowing it was going to be stupid... I didn't think it was stupid, I'd use the word hokey. But like the OP said, it was a lot of FUN.

There are some movies that really work because of the audience (you usually see this with any popular movie that has a midnight showing, like LotR, Star Wars and Matrix). Anyway, this movie was no exception. I think everyone who went into that theater knew exactly what they were in for, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I even stayed to watch the official "Snaked on a Plane" video that played during the credits!

I agree, it was better than it had any right to be, for sure. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it, but I'm actually glad I went and saw it. Very enjoyable time.

It is the greatest movie ever made.

The people who you think will die, do. The movie wastes little time with silly things like "plot" or "backstory", getting to the snakes on a plane swiftly. The bad guy is a bad guy (and there is resolution, but it is quick, why waste time on showing you what happens to the bad guy when you can have more snakes on the plane). The good guy is Samuel L. Jackson, playing himself. What more can you possibly want?

I really enjoyed it. I went in thinking that it was a strait forward movie about snakes on a plane. When watching it I was quite pleased that it was
a movie about snakes on a plane
and therefore quite enjoyable to watch.

It is the plague. Or at least I am going to avoid it as though it was.

No interest whatsoever, it just sounds dumb. Not 'fun dumb', just dumb.

The Auld Grump

The movie lacked a few key scenes.

[sblock]
1. The kickboxer should have had to kickbox more snakes.

2. The music video should have been by the rapper, not this random band. Or else the music video should have been more interesting.

3. There should have been a boss snake. I mean, Arachnophobia had a boss spider. Aliens had a boss alien. Snakes on a Plane should've had a big, bad-ass snake that Samuel L. Jackson could have fought against in a dramatic conclusion while they were trying to land the plane. Maybe a two-headed snake.

4. Right after Samuel L. Jackson says his dramatic line, a great white shark with a jet pack should have torn through the hull of the plane and eaten him.[/sblock]

I never thought I'd actually be able to honestly say this, but this one almost made me spew the water I was drinking on my keyboard.

For those of you who don't get the reference, rent the movie

Nice one, RW!

The movie has a very respectable 8.3 at IMDB.com. I'll be seeing it, though I was in the "plague" camp before hearing more about the movie.

SoaP is an entertaining movie. It's certainly not a good movie, meaning it's not well-written, full of compelling performances, et cetera, but it isn't supposed to be. Barely a dull moment was to be found, which is more than I can about just about everything else I've seen this summer, both in the theater and on DVD.
