sneak attack questions

The "Core Only Power Combo" involves a Ranger/Rogue Multiclass build - Potentially going over to Assassin as your PrC (if evil). Ranger is taking the TWF feat chain in "Bonus" -

Rog 10, Ranger 6, Assassin 4
Alternative: Rog 10, Ranger 10

Feats of Choice for character levels:
Combat Expertise, Quickdraw, Combat Feint, Improved Initiative(if possible), Point Blank Shot - Rapid Shot. Unlike a conventional fighter you WILL be tight on feat slots, so choose wisely.

Odds are, you want to take Greater TWF and (at epic levels) Perfect TWF.

Race: Half Elven

Ability Boost: Three choices, DEX DEX and DEX

Magic items:
Much love is shown for +X daggers with the seeking and returning features. Thy Primary weapons however... are a Shortsword and Longsword of Dancing ... (When Ye reach epic potential Everdancing weapons should make you drool).

Achieving its full glory and throwing rapid shot and haste into the mix... you are looking at 10 dagger throws at bab +16; Not all of em are going to hit - but each one that does has full sneak dice on it.

Energy features for your daggers are potentially wonderful magic additions if the feature activated whenever the weapon was thrown, augmenting thy already sickening number of sneak dice.

- for skills
Max out: Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Search, Spot
High numbers in: Survival, Disable Device, Open Lock, Use Magic Device....
A few ranks in: Spellcraft, Knowledge (Nature)

You have NO shortage of points here... have Fun

Now for the Drawback:

The problem with the build is that sneak attack doesn't work on anything and everything. What it DOES work against however has a tendency to die, and die in 1-2 rounds. Your battle tactics center around this fact. Getting your sneak dice against oozes, undead or constructs isn't going to happen - so more inventive tactics will be required. For these monsters, see the part in italics above.

If you worry about ranger/rogues not being able to sneak attack: Add some Scout levels into the mix and the Swift Hunter as well as the Swift Ambusher feat. Undead and constructs as favored enemies and voila! Sneak and skirmish attacks!

I'd think about Greater Manyshot though.

Not really.

Not only is a Rog BAB lower, and two weapon fighting carries an Atk penalty, but Rogues tend to have low hp. When they get into melee combat, they tend to go down pretty quickly.

Yep. If you dp a boatload of damage, but don't kill whatever it is you're sneak attacking, you better hope you can live through its response.

Wow. For a 2 weapon fighting rogue that is going to be a huge thing.
As other have said, TWF with sneak attack is pretty much balanced. The downside is, TWF is horribly weak if you don't have sneak attack!
