So...does anyone play Alternity anymore?

I was just looking through my small collection of alternity stuff today....alas...such a good system gone to waste.....

I'd love to play but its kind of hard to find players when they can't really get a PHB short of Ebay or other online retailers....

Anyone still playing? Thoughts? Favorite products/settings? Memorable experiences with the system?

Last time we played, it was recently a one-shot to introduce some new players to its system, about three months ago.

However, our group played it throughout the fall of 1999, throughout 2000 until August, when 3E arrived. The rules were simple, unconvoluted, and very, very fast. Most of the rules were sensible, and characters were tough, without being cinematically invincible.

I really wish we could have expanded upon the system, but the clutches of d20 have strong hold on our hearts and minds, driving the love of most every other RPG system far from us. :) I am pretty sure our group will one day return to Alternity, though.

I would play Alternity in a heartbeat if I could find a group. I've tried to get my D&D group into it once or twice, but with no success.

I used to play with a group in NJ who were really into Alternity. I did some Dark Matter and Star Drive games with them and I just fell in love.

if anyone is looking for some cheap Alternity books shoot me an email at ThomasBJJ@hotmail.com

But not too cheap, right? :)

Though I do believe there's the Alternity Fast Play rules, and the stuff that came as freebies for the Star*Drive setting (the ___ Starrise and ___ Starfall mini-adventures; I forget which color goes to which adventure...).

My group is schedulled to play an Alternity game shortly after we finish the Return to Temple of Elemental Evil. Quite frankly, I look forward to it, as I prefer the Alternity game play.

I played a one shot of it, in a kind of "ronin" (the movie) style, I loved it, though that wasn't the consensus. In spite of that I still got the phb, not used once...

Last time I went to see my pals in Lund, we played a bit of Alternity. I used the adventure Planet of Darkness, in the Star*Drive setting. It worked fine, though we didn't quite get through the first part in that one visit.

I haven't decided yet whether to bring and play Alternity next time, or whether we should continue with D&D and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

I'm not currently playing Alternity but I love the system and would use it again next time I'm looking to play a sci-fi or Dark*Matter game.

I was planning on running an ALternity mini-campaign sometime this fall but we seem to have so little time for our main (D&D) campaign that I probably won't be taking a break from it for a while yet.
