So I walked into the FLGS today...

I think d20 Modern was very poorly designed.

Other than non lethal damage and autofire rules, why would you say that?

And this REALLY wasn't supposed to be a d20 modern thread per se.

But I can see the mods moving it.

To get back on track.

It is good to see young people playing RPGs. We need them to keep the hobby alive. How old do you think they were? Were there any girls? I think we need more girls playing.

Well, they weren't in school. I could assume they were dropouts, more likely, recent graduates.

There was one girl (cute, too). Another woman pulled up as I was leaving, but don't know if she was there to join the gathering.

I guess I could have been more exact. Were there cute girls? We need more cute girls. I'm glad you put that in there. Nothing draws boys like a cute girl.

True, sorry, I wasn't thinking when I posted this. :)

I saw some kids playing Munchkin at a local convention a few weeks ago, and the kid that was teaching it was probably only 12 or so. It made me realize how strong a product that is.

Today? School's out now for the winter break, isn't it?

Not here, not yet.

Thank goodness (my wife and I would have to use up some serious vacation hours just to stay home with the kids.)

Psion, in the context of this thread, what does "young" mean?

I've introduced several people to D&D over the past year, some of which had previously only experienced it through Baldur's Gate. They've been younger than me... in the range of 17-20, mostly. But that's not the age I started playing D&D at: about 10.

Cheers!
