So, my game is getting small...

My poor gaming group. We lost one player to his wife who had had enough of sacrificing her saturdays. One to simple burn out. One who felt that he dedicated too much of his creative energy through out the week pondering D&D related things. And finally one who felt the group had now grown too small.

This atrophy is killing me. And my group! :(

Good heavens, how many are left?

MAN... that's tough...

I am too looking for a fourth player (look at my sig) because of my fourth player's wife.

Such is life sometimes. When forced to choose between gaming and your wife, you must choose...

...AHEM.... you must choose...

...gaming ?

I feel your pain. My modern campaign has been in a weird 2 player stasis for about a year now. Every time I get new players, some of the others seem to move.
It can be a fun challenge building adventures for 2 players though, look on the bright side; plenty of character development time. :)

Heh. A member of one of the groups I'm playing in is getting married soon. I sent him a long e-mail with pre-marital advice, the most important of which was a warning that neither he nor his wife should attempt to douse the other's passions and hobbies. If you don't like what she does, too bad. If she doesn't like what you do, also too bad. Neither of you has the power to tell the other one that they can't do something they enjoy just because you don't understand or like it yourself.

Tough, yes. Can be a source of struggle in a relationship. But it isn't up to you to approve of your spouses passions in life.

Finding enough players, and the right players, is the eternal challenge of our hobby. That said, I have run very fulfilling one-on-one games and one (DM) on two (players) games. It is doable, it just takes a different kind of adventuring to make it satisfying. Good luck to you!

My current game is moving between 2 to 4 players. It's frustrating, as many of the other players I've had over the years have (a) moved away or (b) gotten jobs that conflict with session times or, most dishearteningly of all, (c) lost interest.

I ran a session for 2 players last Sunday - it was quite a bit of fun. I don't really enjoy those types of sessions with 1st level characters, but the main PC is now 8th level, so it was fine. :)

Cheers!

To think I once thought my group was too large...
