So next year is the 25th anniversary of Indiana Jones...

One of the reasons I'm grateful for growing up in communist Poland (aside from not being a spoiled whiny Western brat like most of you people :p) is that the SW and Indiana Jones movies were shown after such a massive delay, that I got to see most of them on the big screen (subtitled, with all the original dialogue intact) while the perfect age for it, without a single spoiler or preview of any sort and with only months, not years, between each movie. I haven't felt anything remotely approaching that kind of excitement and sense of wonder until the first LotR film...

(and I posted this before I saw Viking Bastard's post above, so I didn't intend to taunt him... but will do so now: nyah nyah nyah na nyah-ah! ;) )

In communist Poland, Indiana Jones watches you.

You know the response you'd get if you suggested to Indians and Pakistanis or Koreans and Japanese that they're more or less the same thing? I'll magnanimously assume you acted out of ignorance and spare your life this time... :]

George announced recently that he plans to remaster the first Indiana Jones movie to more closely fit his vision of the movie as it should have been. Confirmed changes include inproved digital special effects, and the famous scene where Indy shot the swordman because Harrison Ford was sick that day will be reshoot to show the director's vision of a daring and dangerous fight against death.

:)

God, I hope you're kidding. There's plenty of cool fights in the movie; we don't need another. That single scene--with the swordsman showing off, and Indy just pulling the gun and shooting him--is, bar none, the most iconic scene ever filmed for that character.

I always liked the scene towards the end of Temple of Doom that mirrored it... only Indy's gun doesn't work. He he he...

I wholely agree. George gets a bit to carried away with his visions and recreating/writing things.

Isn't the new movie supposed to be filming or coming out in a year or two?

I was just thinking the same thing. I hope the sequel does make it through 'the process' because I've generally liked the series of IJ films. :)
