So, what are the 3rd party releases for this year?

Ghostwind said:
There are other projects in development currently that may appear yet this year depending on a variety of factors. One of them is very, very big and will have gamers quite excited when we formally announce it. As you can see, regardless of rumors, Bastion is still in the game. ;)

Sounds interesting. Any way you guys can move the Book of Curses (print) up to a Gen Con release? Do it for me? Pretty please?? *bats eyelashes* :)

Good to hear that BP is doing well. I was concerned there for a little while.

TESLA'S LEGACY: Nikolai Tesla was one of the great geniuses of the 20th century. Some of his inventions would (literally) blow your mind, and the ideas he didn't manage to perfect before he died are even more incredible. For full details of what Tesla's Legacy will contain, you'll have to be patient; there'll be a proper press release for that. However, the word "comprehensive" comes to mind when I think of how many different areas this book will cover.
What's the status on this project? I'm curious, as it could be useful in my current game. :)

Here is a partial list for Blue Devil Games. Justin can chime in with Thrilling Passages, AE, and M & M info.

Helios Rising – Take your Dawning Star campaign to the stars! Explore the farthest reaches of the Helios system from the Saurian Empire of the planet C’Thalk to the cryptic mechanical metropolis on the planet Apollo. 11 playable alien species with exhaustive information and rules for each, detailed maps and descriptions of every point of interest in the system.

Silver Eclipse – Like the gleam of a night star, a spacecraft streaks through the skies above Eos. Climb aboard a saurian dreadnought or take the helm of a straasian hiveship. Starship templates and floorplans for every major alien species, advanced starship construction rules and mechanics for space warfare.

Heroes of Helios – When shadows cast over the land, only the light of true heroes can stand against it. This sourcebook presents a host of new options for your Dawning Star character, including new feats, talent trees, classes, alternate alien species, character concepts, and an extended character record folio.

Shadow Falling – A quick-and-dirty relic hunt goes horribly wrong, and you are sent in to rescue the excavation team. The activation of some long-dormant transport system leaves you trapped deep beneath the surface of Eos on the outskirts of a vaasi warcamp. Who will come to save you? An entry-level adventure usable in any space-faring campaign.

Shining Star – The jewel of the Republic, the city of Dawning Star represents the best of the human spirit. Every day, hard-working citizens strive to rebuild society, from the Chinese grease monkey keeping the machinery running smoothly to the Mexican EDF agent tracking illicit arms shipments within the walls. Detailed city maps and location descriptions, dozens of NPCs, and a host of adventure seeds.

Rebel Stronghold – Roger’s Point is a bastion of true freedom on Eos … and they’ll have words with anyone who says otherwise. The largest and most powerful faction camp is home to many colorful characters, and this sourcebook serves them all up.

Shadow War – The war between shadow and light ends here and ends now. Spanning from the depths of the Eotian ruins to the heart of the Vaasi Empire, this mega-adventure, complete with side treks, takes characters from levels 1 to 20 and beyond.

Frankenstein's Children is a horror-themed, tabletop game of tactical combat. At the end of the 1800s, the heirs of Dr. Victor Frankenstein descend on his ancestral home to plumb the secrets of the animation of dead flesh. They succeed all too well, and a war erupts for total control over Castle Frankenstein. Each player can command a team of mad scientists and their monsters or the villagers who are fighting to tear the castle down. Players struggle across a set of board tiles that represent the warzone that the castle has become.

Frankenstein's Children is the second in the Gothica series of games, following hot on the heels of Dracula's Revenge. Each standalone entry in the series shares the same basic rules system, which allows you to plug the components from the games together to play whole new battles that are larger and stranger than the originals.

The game comes with character and action cards, 8 dice, 20 board tiles, 6 doors, 3 dice screens, 32 counters, and a complete rulebook. Most games take from 1 to 2 hours or less.

Need a temple for your next fantasy roleplaying game session? Maybe an entire religion? A religious ceremony? How about a religious conspiracy? How about an entire religious district? The second book in the City Quarter series from The Game Mechanics (Modern Player's Companion, Artifacts of the Ages), details the people, places, and plots of the fantasy city of Liberty, first seen in the ENnie-nominated Thieves' Quarter sourcebook. Temple Quarter presents several new religions, their temples, their priests and priestesses, and their ceremonies and rituals—as well as their more secular goals ... and their political intrigues.

Modular in design, Temple Quarter can be adapted wholesale to any city in any fantasy campaign, or Gamemasters can cherry-pick whatever they need, whenever they need it. With lushly illustrated maps by Christopher West, dozens of fully developed NPCs, and extensive encounter tables loaded with adventure hooks, Temple Quarter is a ready-made mini-setting designed to be dropped into nearly any d20 fantasy campaign at a moment's notice. Let's see - just d20 or OGL as well?

For d20, we have;

The Tome of Drow Lore - 256 pages of dark elf goodness.

Monster Encyclopaedias I and II - all new monsters, and there is talk of a third volume based around Epic level creatures. . .

Ultimate Equipment II - due very soon, lots of cool new kit, absolutely no magic items. . .

The Drow War Trilogy - the first in the Complete Campaigns series that will take characters from level 1 to 30.

Heroes of Fantasy - new core classes for fantasy d20.

Ruins of the Dragon Lord - a massive dungeon in a box set.

Great Big Monster Book - the Mother of all monster books (see thread in Publisher's forum), weighing in at 1,000-odd pages, to be released at Gen Con.

Wars RPG - based on the CCG.

How is that for starters? :)

If you are still reading this thread, I just wanted to say that I absolutely frickin' love Conan: Road of Kings.

I sat down with my Copy of GURPS Conan (the previous "Gold Standard" for Hyborian Age gazetteers, and as fine an RPG supplement as I've ever come across) and Conan: ROad of Kings surpasses it in every way; Quality and quantity of information, Art, layout...everything.

Nice work folks:)

I'm positively giddy over this:)

We're releasing Legends of the Samurai in print at GenCon, and the rest of the year seems like it will be divided down the middle between Blood and Guts releases (d20 Modern military) and more Legends books (historical/legendary fantasy) on the PDF front.

More info about Legends of the Samurai can be found here:

We're rolling along with Dawning Star. Helios Rising has been upped to 350+ pages of d20 sci-fi goodness and will be released at Gen Con. The page-count increase pushed the rest of the schedule back a bit, but we're also going to be releasing this year: Shadow Falling (a full adventure module), Silver Eclipse (starship construction and combat rules from the ground up), Heroes of Helios (a player's supplement), and several other books.

Our AEvolutions line in support of Monte's AE will see the release of Tell It To My Axe, hopefully at Gen Con. I've got a few more AE pots on the stove, but I don't have formal approval from Monte yet, so mum's the word.

We've got two more books ready to go in our 1st Appearance line in support of Mutants & Masterminds. Wheelman will present comprehensive vehicle-construction and chase rules, and The Bronx Bomb is a famous location sourcebook. Of course, these got pushed back with the announcement of 2nd edition.

Last but certainly not least is our Victorian-era Thrilling Passages, which will certainly be released by the end of the year. Now, those of you who have been following the progress of TP might be a bit surprised by that comment. We had planned to release it at Gen Con and, in fact, have a few TP events scheduled. There's still a chance we will be doing so. However, we're considering entering TP in the Green Ronin True20 setting search. We will make a final decision in the next few days and post an announcement.

Oh yeah there is. Just when I think that there aren't that many products that I'll want to buy it gets ramped up again. Not overly surprising since, thanks to Gen Con, August and September see a number of excellent releases and it just gets better through the holiday season!

I'll definantly be picking up Helios Rising and Heroes of Helios, M&M 2, and Year of the Zombie. Those are the products that stick out the most in my mind on the RPG end of my gaming hobbies.

There are also a lot of great looking board games coming out this year as well from FFG. Runebound 2E, Descent: Journeys into the Dark, Arkham Horror, and World of Warcraft will all be picked up by me this year. Runbound, Descent, and WoW all have miniatures that so far look like great additions to my ever growing collection.

2005 may have started off a little slow, but it's ramping up to be a great year for gaming!
