So, what did YOU get for Christmas?

Christmas

I'm very happy....for Christmas I received the joy of watching my three children enjoy the magic of Christmas morning (I am glad that my oldest still believes in Santa at age 9). They all had a grand time and it was fun seeing the holdiay through their eyes.

We also are getting a white Christmas, with the snow coming down outside as we speak (kinda like it does in all those holiday movies).

As for the material stuff that I received: 2 AD&D 3rd Edition books that I wanted; 11 Star Trek novels; 3 boxed sets of CD's to listen to in the car (Beatles, and various artists from the 1970's); 3 CD's of Scottish bagpipe music; a pair of candle pillars; a travel bag; and a large bar and bag of dark chocolate.

I enjoyed watching my boys unwrap presents, encluding my hubby.:p
I look outside though, doesn't "feel" like christmas....Sunny Florida.
Anyway, for xmas, I got turtles, turtles, and more turtles...I collect them and get such a kick out of the little guys. I actually got misty eyed at the turtle candle holder that my hubby gave me.

All in all, we have each other, we are in good health, and we are a simple happy family, which makes the day perfect!!;)

If you didn't get anything, I'm sure it was just because...

Me? I only got some practical things, we don't make big presents anymore...

Bye

I got, uh... well, I live alone, and I've not been a good boy, so I got nothing. What about you?

Sorry to here, that.

If it makes you feal any better i'm pretty much in the same boat, Although i get christmas Dinner with my brothers GF and her family.

I got a long sleeved Cowboy Beebop shirt
The Special Collectors edition of LOTR the long one :D
And the Blue Seed 9 perfect edition on DVD.

Not a lot, but I a quite happy. My wife got me a big hug at 7:00 am in the morning and that made my day. The rest is from my inlaws. My wife and I are going to go buy ourselves Nintendo Gamecube with Super monkey Ball and a second controler for ourselves (we decided on this a while ago). My favorite gift was the hug :D

Time with friends.

Todd The Younger got a rebuilt computer, Lyandra a nice little jewelry chest. Jen (their mom) got part of a kitchenware set (the rest is on the way.)

The dogs (all 5) got fussed over, which they loved.

Todd The Elder said he'd get something for me, but that aint important right now. The best thing is, they got a new house. They're still moving in.

As I write it's the calm before the storm. Folks'll be coming over for Christmas dinner and I expect everybody'll get stuffed. That's really the best present of all, tryptophan intoxication.:D

Merry Christmas!:)

From my parents I got Masters of the Wild, The Monster Manual Two, A 48x CD burner, and Star Warped.

From my uncle and aunt I've heard rumor that I'm getting a gift certificate to the local gaming shop.

And my grandma got me a subscription to Dragon Magazine.

I got clothes, clothes, clothes... I am such a fashion nerd. :D

And thank you, PA, for making me feel guilty by saying you're working on articles on Christmas Eve. Gahh... *I* have deadlines coming up and funding running out. Next time, lie.

On Christmas Day?? Heretic! :p

I intend to finish an abstract today, for a paper I wish to present to a colloquium. I expect to get at least one of the two articles ready before the New Year, maybe both of them. After that, back to my doctoral dissertation.

And I really hope I'll be able to win another scholarship in the Spring... It's real hard, because 99.99% of them are restricted to American citizens.

On another subject: the only new piece of clothing I got this year, after the end of the Fall semester, is a scarf knitted by one of my students. It keeps me warm in more than one way. :)

Much Joy

I got the reward of watching my 2 young ones enjoy christmas morning. My 1.5 year old thought it was kinda neat to rip paper off of gifts. We aren't in the habit of being extravagent but it is nice to watch the faces of the little ones on Xmas morning.

On another note, my wife, who is not a gamer, does not understand gamers (and being a psychologist, she doesn't delve too deep into it. I am not sure I want to hear about it) and doesn't understand why my friends and I love it so much, does listen to me when talking with the gang. She got me:

Relics and Rituals II
LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring Director's Cut
Opeth's Deliverance CD
Stratovarius's Best of CD

All in all, I am quite happy with my little trove.

Peace to all, and no matter what (or not at all) you believe, Happy Holidays!
