So which companies got hit by the printer fiasco?

By my estimate, about 10 publishers were affected by the problems of a single printer.

Who are they? It is kind of hard to determine if something I am looking forward to is delayed if I don't know which companies were affected.

Well,

I know you can add Hero Games to the list. Kevin Long told me there were expecting to get a wack of Pulp HERO and they only received three. Not sure if this was the same printer but he was telling my friend and I that the printer in question had several of the attendees as clients and a small wealth of personal and professional problems he was going through.

That said, I've worked both in and with the print industry for a while and if you don't pad your timelines for this stuff you'll soon be unemployed or out of business.

I believe I have one of only 425 copies of Mage that have been sold ever. God bless Exhibitor badges.

Mage was one of the big releases that I didn't even see a COPY of, it sold so fast.

I went this year with really only M&M 2.0 on my scopes and not thinking any other real big releases were going to be there. Oops. Besides the rush for M&M; Shadowrun 4.0, Serenity, Mage, and Axis & Allies Minis were HUGE releases if you judged them by the lines they generated and the rate they sold out every day.

This was only my third Gencon but it was the first time I remember seeing THAT kind of interest in products. I really spend a lot of time prowling the lanes of the exibitor hall and it's been the main highlight of the Con for me (although socializing with the EN community has certainly challenged its position this year). I couldn't believe how many LINES there were this year. People were lining up for EVERYTHING.

Makes me wonder just what will be the big items next year. Anyone have any theories?

NB: First person who says D&D 4.0 gets a rock thrown at them.

its not going to be that soon. After what happened with 3.5 they are going to wait a little while

without thresdjacking this into YA4ET, I hope it WotC or whoever (in case they sell D&D off) waits a few years more before 4th ed.

To continue the hijack:

Generally new editions of D&D come around about once every ten years. 1st ed AD&D pretty much lasted through the 80's. 2nd showed up about 90. 3rd was 2000. So going off that we probably will se 4e in 2010, with rumors of production in 2008, and announcement in 2009.

So we got 4 years.

Aaron.
