Have they said what the planned max level is intended to be when the game hits final release?
Plans now are for max level 10 in the final game.Have they said what the planned max level is intended to be when the game hits final release?
Good start, character builder was simple but had an interesting way to customize it by blending between three points you can pick and choose from.
Voice acting felt like an upgrade, and by that I mean the main cast of PCs and random NPCs. Ben Starr and Devora Wilde are amazing of course, and I heard Amelia Tyler is in this too.
There's a scene I won't spoil that's very early on that is exactly my favorite way to portray that kind of thing as a DM.
My only real gripe with the game is just that they follow the D&D rules so closely that they have 2024 Backgrounds, which yes, I fully acknowledge is really a complaint of 5e24. 2024 Backgrounds RAW are just, imo, like, really bad.
Was just jarring because my group's games have house-ruled character creation to be 2014 Backgrounds + Tasha's ASI + 2024 Origin Feat, and that works so well and fluidly, and for our group just plain better, that I kinda forgot about it.
BG3 was only great with mods, and even then only because of ferocious communitg feedback against the early form of the game. While BG 3 is a better game overall for many people, I think Solasta 1 was a better implementation of the D&D rules. BG 3 felt very much like a Larian game with a D&D paint job for me.
I decided to support the devs and get early access but haven't had any time to do playtests yet. Maybe this weekend when I'm stuck inside because of a freakin' blizzard.![]()
What issue do you have with 2024 backgrounds.

While I agree on all other points, the Solasta characters looked fine to me, and I still don’t understand the whining from all and sundry. They’re perfectly serviceable. But I don’t customize my XCOM soldiers and use default portraits for most RPGs, so perhaps there’s something wrong with me.I will take Solasta's limited mods, pants voice acting, and mid story, my only real complaint is the fugly characters.
Its fine to not care that theyre ugly, but they are extremely ugly. Not just in a low quality graphics sense, but the faces would be ugly even with better graphics. While I agree on all other points, the Solasta characters looked fine to me, and I still don’t understand the whining from all and sundry.
