Brutus finally spots some movement along the side of the road, and sees a hobgoblin obliterated by a lightening orb from Jon. He also feels a sting in his leg and sees a scratch from an arrow that didn't hit him clean, but left blood. Later He thought. He noticed Jon move a little closer, and follows suit.

He lets his pack slide off his one arm as he pulls his bow off his shoulder. Moving up he gets behind Jon's charger in hopes of getting a bit of protection from the arrows. He gets behind the charger, and pulls an arrow to the string. He takes a deep breath and then leans out and fires an arrow at a hobgoblin 40 feet away. He aims for its distorted features, its crude mouth open in a cackling grin. This will shut that mouth of yours you dirty beast.

As soon as he sees the Hobgoblins' pitiful attempt at ambushing the party, Talen decides to show them how its done. Wasting no time in putting thought into action he scrambles up the west side of the gully and enters the woods. Once there he uses all the available cover as he starts to creep up on the hobgoblins.

[sblock=OOC]Suprise Round: Double move = 20' to climb embankment + 10' to enter wood + 30/2 sneaking through woods.

OOC: Not much time to post on this weekend, but I don't want to slow everyone down, so Lamad will just use full defense after the hit in the surprise round.

Edit: How many hobgoblins are left?

Seeing his lightning fell one of the attackers and the strength and skill of his companions Jon shouts out encouragement while weaving another spell, this one a simple but effective ward against evil and misfortune. He'll keep an eye on his companions, ready to rush forward should one of them need help.

Reposting to clarify what's gone on in Round 1 and start round 2.

Jon spits out a slew of words and the nearest hobgoblin not in melee, drops as a crackling ball of electricity hits it square in the face.

The hobgoblin facing the snarling Shadow, drops his sword and swings wildly, hitting Shadow for (5). The other four start yelling (if you understand goblin) that you'll die horrible deaths for killing Grashnark, death to the humans, etc. You hear what sounds like some sort of dog/wolf (knowledge planes, or knowledge nature).

Dalyn, your shot really hurts, judging by the way, the hobgoblin is clutching it's neck and screaming.

Brutus and Chimon, your damage combines to drop a hobgoblin.

Talen seems to have taken off or turned invisible, no ones quite sure which :).

There is 1 hobgoblin 30 feet away in melee with a cat (now badly wounded), 2 40 feet away (1 killed by 2 arrows, 1 killed by lightning orb), 2 70 feet away (1 severly injured, one ok).

At the end of the first round, you see 1 more hobgoblin running from the farmhouse to the road, two hounds, of unnatural size and coloring run ahead of him, and you hear shouts of more coming from farther south.

Second round actions, Dalyn, you know the hounds are definitely not natural creatures.

Lamad, Chelaxian Conjurer

Holding his side, where the arrow raked across his flesh, Lamad whispers some secret syllable in infernal. Stone starts to rain at the hobgoblins area.

[sblock=SolosAddie]Talen goes after the Hobgoblins in initiative order. He is currently 45' from the party and the 2 nearest HG are dead. Therefore, his action depends on the west-side 70' HG. So I'll post my action, once he has taken his action

Is this the injured or the OK one.[/sblock]

Brutus Tarsi smiles with satisfaction as he sees his arrow fly true and pierce the chest of a hobgoblin. His eyes widen a bit with shock as another arrow sprouts out of the target right next to his. He turns and sees the small friendly halfing putting another arrow to the string. He nods to him and turns back toward the combat. He steps out from behind the horse and sees on hobgoblin close to him having it out with Shadow, another one about 60 ft away, and then notices another leading some hounds with it coming from the direction of the farmhouse that sits off the road a bit. Brutus first thought was to drop his bow and attack the newcomers. But right before he started to move, the ground about 30 ft in front of him begins to move.

Uncertain as to what is happening. Tarsi moves a bit further down the road, and opts instead of chancing the now uncertain looking road, to fire at the newcomers.

[sblock=Brutus Tarsi]HP - 50(45) -- AC - 21 -- Flat-footed - 18 -- Speed - 30 ft.
CMB - +10 -- CMD - 23

Longbow -- +9 -- 1d8+5 -- 20x3

TWF Shortswords -- +11 -- 1d6+8 -- 19-20x2
Power Attack -- +9 -- 1d6+12 -- 19-20x2[/sblock]

[sblock=Actions]Moves another 10 feet down the road, now out in the open, stopped and fires another arrow at the newest hobgoblin coming to join our party.

OOC - No idea how far the new hobgoblin and two hounds are, but I am assuming they are in bow range, if they are not, then Brutus fires at the Hobgoblin at 70 ft. (now 50 ft away from him).[/sblock]
