Right after they're done discussing the misterious signs Aanfil and Astrid's adoptive parents persuade Star Wolfess to go back to The Refuge. "Your foster mother, mentors and rest of the people there must be worried about you." When she's there she shows her band to Vittero. "One day your uncontrolled curiosity may cost you too dear." he says while throwing the headwear into fire. But unbeknownst to him the girl already copied the runes, as the pigment on the cloth started to blur. "What you've done was very irresponsible" he continues about her escape. "You should talk with me, or with Adi about it first, instead of going out to search for unknown dangers." "You'd never let me." she answers. "We will let you, when you're ready."
After one cycle Vittero, Adisakti and Richelle finally allow the damsel to go back to her new friends in The Spiofthest Village. "Be carefull" the old woman almost weeps "I don't want you to die the horrible way as my son, who you could never know .. "

Astrid is very disappointed about the lack of information; but she and her friends are all yet so young, she is not willing to remand herself to a life of monotony. As Star departs for a time, she hopes her newly found female friend will return for she suspects that something of importance or portent should come calling for the young heroes to explore once again. The Chilling and Drenching seasons are not conducive to travel, anyway, especially since the distance across the sea is too great to purchase passage from the Norikadians. She also wonders what thoughts Wrenn and the newly met Rheini archer Maka are considering.

As the Drenching Season gave way to Rebirth, not only did Star Wolfess return to the Spiofthest village but so did the Storyteller. Always a welcome sight, he is a gifted speaker and entertains both children and adults alike, with fantastic tales and news of the remainder of the world that most would never see. This perhaps, would not be the case for the Young Heroes. Just before he was to depart back into the forest, to where, no one knew, he mentioned to the adventurous youths, some of whom could now be called young adults, that the Amiradthae had lied. “The alleged relics of the Yahdram that those Amiradthae sought are not to be found in the Chain of Keeps, and that clever group that you encountered is sure to keep looking.”

He then turned and began to walk away, as if he had never spoken.

The alleged relics of the Yahdram that those Amiradthae sought are not to be found in the Chain of Keeps
"Then where? And what is the reason for this clever group to station there, for I doubt they're there just to guard the summoning portal. By the way, do you recognize these pictograms? They were at the circle surrounding the portal. And this robe was worn by the Sprite, the clever group accidentally summoned, then killed, then it disintegrated and that's all that was left out of it. At least they said so."

Since the venerable Storyteller is walking away, Astrid suspects that his eccentricity is a bit of a ruse and he merely provides enough information to make others think for themselves. She looks at Star, "I think we should follow him from a distance. He always knows more than he shares. He did something like that the first time the rest of us ventured into the forest for the first time. We may not be able to track him if he does not want us to do so, but I suspect that he will lead us where he is wanting us to go. I also think that he is saying that the discovery within the Chain of Keeps was an unexpected find."

She tries to get Oorvid, Wrenn, and Maka to come along, as well.

Wrenn and Maka spend some downtime in the village making more arrows, and talking about gods, spirits, and other worlds beyond what Wrenn calls "the veil of flesh."

Wrenn and Maka both agree that the group should follow The Storyteller.

Maka says, "The oldest elders have ways of doing things that are slowly going away. If we do not follow The Storyteller, he will not have the chance to teach us the vanishing ways. Since we are not his blood relatives, we will not be able to feel his spirit, nor hear his whispers on the wind once he dies. Perhaps we should offer him our blood in the handshake of brotherhood the next time we see him. Blood brotherhood is a bond of honor, that goes with a spirit into the next world. If we become blood brothers (and sister) to The Storyteller, then he can still whisper to us after he dies."

Routine calculations were performed but not listed.
The Storyteller turns at the sound of Star’s voice and merely smiles at her. It seems to her that he cocks his head a little as he turns back to the direction he is walking. All of the young heroes tag along as Astrid leads the procession, after the man. For such a venerable soul, he manages to stay about the same distance ahead of the youngsters, no matter what tactic might be tried to close the distance. He walks more easterly than expected, the trees being smaller and thinner at the northern edge of the forest.

As the Daylight is waning, the youths have no choice but to make camp and hope that the Storyteller will do the same. In the morning light, as everyone spreads out to look for a sign, the man himself is standing to the party’s south, farther into the forest. Once he is seen, he turns and continues on. Strangely enough, his path seems to be looping around to the North; and by midday, the party exits the forest to follow the man across the rough plain that would lead into the Bakka-taerm Desert.

Standing out in the open, seemingly serving no purpose, is a small dolmen that appears to be more of a frame that would hold a door to a structure, but there is no door and no structure. The man pauses at the frame, gripping the left side with his left hand, as he turns back to look at the party. He then walks through the frame and disappears.

Astrid quickens her pace to a run, wanting to be able to follow the Storyteller where ever it is that he might have suddenly gone. She has no understanding of what she has seen, but believes with the utmost certainty that the elder man knows what he is doing and no harm has come to him or will come to her.
