Something you don't see everyday

A giant squid- probably a juvenile- was caught on video in a Japanese bay.

I know it feels wrong considering the rarity of the specimen, but the first thing I though (after "Of course it had to be in Japan") was about how it would make some kick ass fried calamari rings.

Would have to slice them very thin to get them properly cooked, I think.

Probably inedible- as I recall, they have a chemical like ammonia or some such in their systems so they can survive in the ocean's deep, cold waters.

Well that's just a bummer. Though it reminds me of a fish found in Antarctica that, if memory serves, had anti-coolant instead of regular blood.
