[Somewhat OT] Elric of Melnibone in D20 stats

Neowolf

First Post
Just for kicks, I went into PCGen this morning and loaded up the PHB, the DMG, and Dragon Lords of Melnibone (which I admittedly don't actually own a copy of), and created what I think is a fairly accurate representation fo Elric in D20 terms... comments welcome. :D

(Please bear with me if this doesn't work, I'm copy/pasting... if it looks bad I'll come back and fix it)

Looks like you made him a 10Wiz/10Ftr. I think you probably have to go Epic with him though, after all he is one of the most powerful Wizards alive in the Young Kingdoms. The 10th level fighter works well, but I'd Epic him a few levels in Wizard, or find a Prestige class that will bump his spellcasting up to use of 9th level spells.

CR 20, my a$$

D00d, a flying, improved invisible sorc would make mincemeat out of this guy.

Someone should start B.A.D.A.S.S. (Bothered About Disposable Archetypal Swords and Sorcery).

I'm a big Elric fan, so I think this is a great topic. :)

You never specified his classes. But, looking at the hitpoints you have posted, he would be a 10th level fighter/10th level wizard (or sorceror perhaps), correct? If so, why so many wasted feats on armor proficiency? Are you using some kind of specialized ruleset different from normal d20?

Also, what would his spell list be I wonder?

Great thread topic!

Aaargh! Don´t worry my love! They could never assign your stats correctly!

Anyways , He already has official stats in ·Dragon Lords of Melnibone and in the last Elric RPG Edition, so why bother????

Multiple Summon Planar Ally and Plane Shift I guess.

Nothing else really.

Yeah, that's why I think he's actually more of a sorceror than a wizard. Although he would probably have some basic utility spells like Mage Armor and Cat's Grace as well.... a few things we don't 'know' about to give him a combat power boost perhaps.

Planar ally? You mean planar binding right? Planar ally is a divine spell. :D

Though I could see allowing Elric to use it. Dont think Arioch or any of the Plant/Beast Lords would like to be called and bound even by Elric.

Because Fighter 8/Wizard 20 doesn't exactly jive with "official" rules? I mean, Dragonlords of Melnibone is generaly considered one of the worst d20 products...
