Songs Fitting D&D Monsters

Blue Oyster Cult has a lot of tunes that are totally D&D/fantasy oriented (Black Blade, Veteran of the Psychic Wars, Les Invisibles, etc).

High marks to Blind Guardian as well.

Marillion has a couple of good fantasy songs on their earliest stuff- Grendel, for instance.

Blackmore's Rainbow is wonderful for this trope, at least the earlier albums have some great songs (Man on the Silver Mountain, Sixteenth Century Greensleeves, Temple of the King, etc).

Old Led Zepellin and Black Sabbath are both winners here too (Battle of Evermore, Misty Mountain Hop, etc; War Pigs, Black Sabbath, Iron Man).

I actually started a thread about D&D Metal a couple of years ago and got a ton of great suggestions.

The first 2 of those were co-written by Michael Moorcock...who also did some songs with Hawkwind as well as Michael Moorcock & the Deep Fix.

Okay, I just happen to be running a PbP that is, as much as possible, inspired by various songs from various artists. I'll share a few of my picks here...

"Of Wolf And Man" by Metallica and "Bark At The Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne - Perfect werewolf songs.

"Iron Man" by Black Sabbath - Iron Golem (or Warforged), what else? For more fun, find a way to give it some Intelligence.

"Eye Of The Tiger" by Survivor - Rakshasa. I couldn't resist.

If you can find and listen to the band Wizard (metal band from Germany), they have some good stuff. The Goochan album has several songs that are focused on creatures. "Call To The Dragon" is the song that got me to buy the album...

Anything by Za Frûmi makes me think of Orcs. Mostly because they speak in Black Tongue in their songs
