D&D 4E Sorcerer and Themes in 4e?

Actually, it's more likely to give you +6 to +7 at 11th, but I won't try to argue if the OP board guys have determined that a mage pyro deals more damage. I'm still doubtful, but they tend to be right about such things.

Maybe my knowledge of charops is outdated? Last I knew Genasi Firesoul Pyromancer Mage was winning that contest flat out. I'm not sure where +6 or +7 at 11th comes from, you could start with an 18 in your secondary stat I suppose but there are nice optimizations for Mages as well, less costly ones that open up more Paragon level feats. I think that's where the difference is.

Your knowledge is outdated (if in fact it was ever correct). A Revenant Lightning Soul Genasi Sorcerer/Lightning Fury will annihilate a pyromancer in terms of straight numbers. For even more fun, add mark of storm.

OP: Sohei is a good choice of theme. Sorcerers have weapon attacks anyway, so it's basically another use of lightning cuts.

Please excuse my irrepressible need to brag a bit about my level 13 Sorcerer's nova round last session:
I positioned myself so I could catch three enemies in a close blast 3 area and then used Lightning Breath (missing once for half damage), Dragon Breath (missing once and critting once), used an action point for another free Dragon Breath and a Flame Spiral dealing a total of over 350 damage, single-handedly turning the encounter around and leaving our DM rather dumbstruck. Good times! :D
