Soul Calibur IV

Hi folks. Out of curiosity, who is going to be getting Soul Calibur IV when it comes out? What do you think of Darth Vader and Yoda being in there? Just curious.

I think it's sad actually that you'll never be able to have Yoda and Vader fight, since they're on different consoles.

Hopefully it'll be that way, but so far there's been no indication of it beyond speculation and hope.

Either way, doesn't matter to me as I love me some Soul Calibur so this game is an instant purchase.

It's a great way to stealthily add $2-3 to the price of the majority of units sold. I can't see the Namco passing up easy money.

Same here. I just hope there's some kind of option to reign in the cup size of the female characters. I keep picturing the way my wife is going to look at me when I'm playing...

Oh, I do expect it'll happen and I'll gladly pay it...but I'm still not absolutely sure they'll do it. There's still an off chance they're actually going to stick to the word 'exclusive'.

Yeah, some of the designs have somehow managed to get a bit more ridiculous than usual. I've always played Sophitia and love her style, but she's gone from slightly small armour to mostly nothing. Almost wonder how she could possibly lose armour with this new defense breaking system they're putting in.

Don't count on it. The fans are getting serviced, for the female characters bra cups runneth over. It looks like Namco increased bust lines by at least a full cup size for most characters who were not loli-service.

Hilde is actually fully armored, kinda new concept for Namco.

Really like the Crystal Armor look for Siegfried. Just as I picture Cecil at the end of Final Fantasy 4

Do remember she was the character you could play in the nude on the Japanese Playstation version of Soul Edge, swimsuit in the US version {Soul Blade], once you had all the weapons.

ive always found Soul caliber to be a bit to button-mashey for my taste, but i'll prolly get it anyway because i love fighting games and i need to put my arcade stick to work.

This is going to be an instant purcharse for me as well...heck, I'll probably get that premium version that's been advertised.

While Soul Calibur isn't my favorite fighting game series by a long shot (I prefer the simplicity of Super Smash Bros. and the insanity of Guilty Gear), I do like it enough that I will probably get SCIV sometime in the future. I don't have a PS3 or Xbox360 yet, so it may take a while, but I will probably get it.

I would have preferred that they didn't bring Star Wars characters of all things into the game, though. I am not such a fan of Star Wars that I am excited by the idea of controlling them in a fighting game, and they just clash way too much with the setting and characters of Soul Calibur for me to think of them as anything but an annoyance. I really hope that they don't show up in the normal game modes...
