Is things of hardness over 20 rare/common in DnD? Like by beng able to cut through anything with up to hardness 20 mean yourcutting through rock/metal etc or wood etc etc.?

Generally about the only things harder than adamantine have been magically hardened, so no.

Mind-blade o' Slicing Through Stuff
Psionic Feat
Prereqs: Improved Sunder, Able to manifest a Mindblade
Benefit: Your mindblade ignores objects hardness scores

Also would this have an affect on armour? So does adamantine cut through armour easier? dreduce Armour AC or soemthing?

Nope, doesn't affect armor/ac at all unless you are attempting to destroy unattended armor.

It *does* let you sunder adamantine weapons though.

What do you think fo this. I mean how big is it in balancing to ignore hardness scores? IM guessing that would be a really powerful ability?

I don't think it's really that big a deal. Adamantine can already ignore the hardness of everything that isn't a) made out of adamantine itself or b) been magically hardened by a fairly uncommon spell.

99% of the time "Ignore hardness" is exactly the same as "Ignore hardness <= 20"

Dragon #341 has all kinds of mindblade enhancements, like ones for reshaping it into other weapons (with that weapon's actual stats), adamantine qualities, or even making a shield out of it.

You might want to check it out.

As I recall, those feats are part of the feat list in the prior links, although a few, I think, have some slight modifications.
"Mindslice"

Objects are treated less hard when struck by a mindblade.
Hardness is treated at -4 + -1 per additional mindblade feat (inc. Form Mindblade, hence min -5)
Bonus AC from Nat Armour, Armour and Shields is reduced by 1/4 the bypassable hardness

Example: So a character with Form Mindblade, this feat, and seven other mindblade feats would be able to bypass up to 12 hardness - and would treat AC as up to -3 less by reducing the benefit of natural armor, armor, shields as necessary.
Feat 2 said:
Improved "Mindslice"

Increases the hardness bypassed to twice the number of mindblade feats.
Nat Armour/Armour/Shield AC reduced by 1/3 of Hardness bypassed

Example: So instead of a PC with 15 mindblade feats bypassing up to 18 hardness and up to 4 natural armor, armor, or shield (total), they would instead bypass up to 30 hardness and up to 10 natural armor, armor, or shield (total). That is a very notable increase, well worth a mid-level feat.

Prereq: Something to prevent it being taken pre 10th/12th lvl

Soudns Really good, maybe thinking another feat similar at higher levels like 17 or so which lets say trible mindblade feats and 1/2 AC? How does soemthing liek that sound in balancing terms? Im ot so good at the that side of things so im really guessing here

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So i was trying ot think of a way of combining the hardness bypassing, and AC passing qualities of this "lightsabre mindblade" feat without taking up three seperate feats.

Trying to create a feat which has lightsabreish qualities, and is useful both in combat and in "cutting stuff up" ie. hardness, how do you think it should be handeled? I was thinking about a single feat which can only be taken at really high level ie, 15-17, but then i realised that, chances are youd never get to use it.

Then i was thinking, ok so to reduce it to two feats, how about one that you can take at low levels, say around 5-7th, and then another at 15-17th. The 15-17th one is useful enough that it is still worthwhile at the highest levels and requires taking the initial feat.

Do you think the ideas about fit or what are your thoughts? Im worried that in terms of the power curve, they become less useful in the combat side of things the further you go?

Anyway im not so good with that sorta thing, so what are your opinions?

tnx guys :D
