In Rel's game, I don't doubt that both versions may be appropriate :p

Hey man, Space: 1889 is serious business.

I mean sure, we've got the occasional slutty nun (thanks, Henry!) but so far no big ass-lightning guns*.

*Rumor has it that the Belgians might be working on one but that's ONLY a rumor!

Matchstick, are you going to be at GenCon? Cuz I'm running Savage Worlds Space 1889 there if you'd like to try it out.

Yep, barring weirdness I'll be there Wednesday night. Let me know when you're playing, other than Crothian's Dresden game I'm pretty free.

Oh, and if you need someone to pick up the book for you just let me know. I'm sure we'll be there right around the opening of the floor. It would be no problem for me to head over there right away and get one for you.

Well simply put that would be awesome. I'll let you know if that is necessary or not as I have some friends in mid to high places among the Savages.

I just checked and dammit it looks like the only time I've got open spots in one of these games is when you're in Crothian's game! I can Alt you for the session I'm running on Friday morning (9-1) if you like?

Sure, alt away! Also, if I pick up the book I'll come and find you at your thursday morning game and pass the book along and maybe watch for a little to get an idea of the setting.

Let me know about the book. I can PM you my cell number if needed at the Con.

I love Space: 1889 and have run it several times. I actually like the system - it is quirky but it actually works as it encourages the players to avoid combat. :)

But I'm likely to use Spirit of the Century next time I want to run Space: 1889. The FATE system should be able to handle it.

I have to say, "avoiding combat" violates the spirit of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Jules Verne in so many ways. :)
