Speculation on Shadar-Kai and Fomorians

I think Shadar-Kai might be a race of fey linked to Shadowfell, but whether they have anything to do with elves, eladrin and drow, I don't know. They might be an offshoot of the drow, or they might be a completely separate race of fey.

Fomorians, I get the impression that they are a race of 'evil' faeries, much like they were in Celtic mythology. Whether they resemble the deformed giants, or humanoid ants, well that still remains to be seen.

I think we've had at least one reference to them still being giants. Scary Feywild giants work for me.

I would love to play in a campaign in the vein of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Hopefully one of my DMs will step up with one or some 3rd party publisher will create such a setting.

I don't see how they could be done in any other way BUT fey of the Shadowfell, considering the new cosmology.

I understand the confusion, but it stems from spelling and roots, in different languages.
Fomorian, or Fomor (I think?) are the deformed giants in Celtic Mythology.
Formorian (edit: Or, because I've not had my coffee, Formian, thus furthering the divide), from the Latin formica or "ant", are the angry colonial LN ant-men.

So they're really not related, except to the ear. Honest :)

The Shadarki might not even be fey but something else. But I'm sure the'll be from the Shadowfell. Maybe they'll even be in "Keep on the Shadowfell".
