I've been thinking about the sorcerer stuff in the Sword coast Adventurer's Guide. We don't really know which new Archetype is coming with it. Any ideas, do you think it is the Favored Soul? The Storm Sorcerer? or something completely new we haven't seen before?

First - guh. Enough with these polls! What's the deal with Lemon Curry? Blech!

Second - why not both favoured soul and storm sorcerer? I could see both getting play. And I wouldn't be surprised to see something like the 4e swordmage show up.

Good question... Maybe favoured soul as blessed of a god seems right.
There is also a slight chance of an elemental sorcerer that may be the base of the elemental cultists in elemental evil...

I would like the wind sorcerer more than the favoured soul because I feel it was cut from the PHB at the last minute.

I think the Storm Sorcerer is most likely to be there, just an updated version from UA.

The Favoured Soul was also a nice subclass, but perhaps it is a bit too awkward concept both narratively (deviates a lot from the sorcerer 'inborn magic' idea, gets very close to cleric) and functionally by getting sorcerer spells + extra attacks + healing spells.

I wouldn't mind having the FS checked up for balance and released in a book, I'm just saying it's quite an oddball and as such I'd rather have something more 'normal' from the first real players supplement. For instance, a vanilla Elemental Sorcerer would be more useful, considering that draconic, chaos mage, storm and favored soul are all quite a lot specific concepts IMO (although storm is the closest to being generic).

For some reason I feel like WotC feels like "We already did the whole 'elemental' schtick with the Draconic Bloodline" so we probably won't be seeing anything like a broad class like that, in my personal opinion. Storm was cool, and my personal preferred of the two we've seen so far. I'm hoping it's something new though. Cosmic was always an interesting concept. I'd really like to see a "generic" magic user/master type that wasn't Chaos, but who knows if that's in the cards or not.

Only one domain gets healing spells, a favored soul of light is blastier, of knowledge more wizardy, the war is more gishy, and so on. By becoming AL legal, it would open a lot of new concepts to sorcerers. I'm currently playing a favored soul of nature, with all speaking with animals and stuff

Thank you for bringing up this exciting topic. We can never talk enough about these polls!

One thing though. You may be in love with lemon curry, but let me point out that in this poll you sadly get none.

This time, you see, it's lemon cookies.

What do you like more? Lemon curry or lemon cookies? I voted cookies, but that's mostly because there were no curry to vote for.
