Spell Compendium Inconsistencies?

Hello Everyone,

Need some help on figuring out some issues with the Spell Compendium.

Problem 1: Thunderhead

On page 254 the spell "Thunderhead" is described on the druid's spell list as:

"Thunderhead: Small lightning bolts deal 1d6 damage/round."

However, on pages 219 and 220, where the spells description is listed, it says:

"In every round of the spell’s duration, a miniature bolt of lightning leaps from the thundercloud to strike the subject. Each bolt deals 1 point of electricity damage that is negated by a successful Reflex save"

Which description is correct?

Problem 2: Freeze

On page 256, the Freeze spell is listed as a 5th level druid spell. However, on page 99 where the spell description is found, it is listed as a 6th level spell. At what level should I get the spell?

Is there some sort of rule that says that the detailed description is the most accurate source for spell information or should the spell lists be considered equally as well? Trying to figure out the matter for consistency issues.

Thank you!

-Jeff

Edit: P.S. I checked the errata and it had no information on either matter.

General rule is (mentioned somewhere in the FAQ, I *think*), but it has been mentioned in so many other threads that this is the way things go.

Text trumps tables (tables would include the one line descriptions IMHO).

Having wrote that, if you feel the one liners fit the spell level better, use that (with DM approval of course).

Closest I've found during a quick review of wher it mentions text trumps table:
FAQ

Does the rainbow servant (CD 54) and sacred fist (CD
59) gain spellcasting levels for every level of the class or just
levels shown on their table?

In the Sage’s opinion, these classes gain spellcasting as
their tables indicate. Normally, if there is a difference between
what a table says and what the ability indicates in its written
explanation, we suggest you use the written rules
. This
exception, however, maintains a good game balance for these
classes within the larger game.

I know it has been mentioned in other place, I just can't find them at the moment.

Now in the Rules Compendium pg 5 it specifically talks about specific trumping general, so you could always use that logic path since a table is general and text is specific for the same spell.
