Copies of Spelljammer are starting to show up. Mike Long of Tribality is in receipt of the books and has tweeted some photos!
While I was never a dedicated Spelljammer regular back in the day, the content-light and junk-heavy multibook format and the rampant piracy of Dark Sun are the only things that genuinely annoy me. Price rises, well, it was probably inevitable. I'm a bit disappointed that the Shou spelljamming presence didn't make it, and will wait and see how they handled the scro and the inhuman war which were always my favourite bits of the setting.Relatedly, from the vibe I'm getting around here and elsewhere, it looks like, outside pricing, this Spelljammer update seems to be hitting all the right buttons. I'm not seeing much in the way of any real dislikes. Even the change in the cosmology has pretty well been accepted (probably as it's very simple to ret-con if you want to change it to something different or go back to the original).
The way D&D design is trending right now, I expect full defiling, if theybshould go there, would be a prof bonus per day kicker effect tied to a Feat or Subclass. We only have part of the stat block. As pointed out the text cropped at the top suggests another related ability.
Possibly, but I doubt it.The top of the image crops of the rest of the of the statblock but ends with the phrase: "... defile (if available)".
The beginning of this phrase might explain what happens when using arcane traits.
I think they were playing around with what the "Dark" of Dark Sun means. It kinda sounds like the “destroy Athas” idea is what they went with. The center of Doomspace is a black hole. The name still makes me think of Dr Doom.
That wording makes me think they’ve just got a Multiattack action that lets them use Defile if it’s available. The top of the image crops of the rest of the of the statblock but ends with the phrase: "... defile (if available)".

My four moon world already has a moon called The Dragon. I'm gobbling your thoughts up to use them.Notice the pale moon color of the dragon.
Meanwhile the left side of the dragon (viewers right side) looks like dark shadow of the moon is either phasing out for a soon to come full moon, or phasing in to end a full moon.
Personally, I would make the luminous part of the moon radiate dim light. But it is still like a "color" dragon.

But that multiattack can now be a quasi-spell attack format. Hence arcane. That wording makes me think they’ve just got a Multiattack action that lets them use Defile if it’s available.
I think you’re right. Unfortunately. That’s kinda also what they did with it in 4E. Think it was an encounter or daily power. Doesn’t sit right though. The way D&D design is trending right now, I expect full defiling, if theybshould go there, would be a prof bonus per day kicker effect tied to a Feat or Subclass.
Yeah, seems less...spooky, eldritch, terrifying?I think you’re right. Unfortunately. That’s kinda also what they did with it in 4E. Think it was an encounter or daily power. Doesn’t sit right though.
