Spells that don't do damage

Hi Gak Toid,

In our last game, the rogue of the party was dominated by a vampire. The party alienist Lucifus Cray promptly turned him to stone. It's a little more permanent than you're average hold monster. By definition, it's painless and does not do damage.

Aside:
While a curious choice, The alienist did not want to use up his maze spell and it gave his raven familiar something to commit its nuisances upon. In fact, burying the "statue" is a very neat way of removing someone from the game. I don't believe they can be true resurrected because in fact they are still technically "alive". Whether Discern Location would work is a matter for conjecture as well. I'm not too sure if this was your purpose or not but heh, I've been feeling verbose this morning.

Best Regards

Just to answer your reflexion:

Petrified: A petrified character has been turned to stone and is considered unconscious. If a petrified character cracks or breaks, but the broken pieces are joined with the body as he returns to flesh, he is unharmed. If the character’s petrified body is incomplete when it returns to flesh, the body is likewise incomplete and there is some amount of permanent hit point loss and/or debilitation.

You can locate the creature even with a scrying.
