Spider-Man 2...and 3, 4, 5, & 6

I enjoyed those comics when I was 10 years old, but this movie is average at best, there is nothing interesting in plot, characters and acting, even action isn`t that great. Convince me why this film is so good.
I can't. What you find nothing interesting is what I find interesting. Spider-Man is not your archetypal superhero. Just some average geek kid given some powers and he has to make some choices in his life. But other than that, he's a kid with a normal girl problem, who will soon to have a best friend problem, if Harry finds out that Peter is Spidey.

IOW, it's relatable to someone like me.

P.S. Just a Jab: I find George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire is second to that of Tolkien's LOTR. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is unraveling like Frank Herbert's Dune series (only the first couple books are good, everything after just spirals down). :]

Why Attack of The Clones lost with Spiderman?

Oh, yes , so Peter is another typical, boring teenager, with personality less interesting than most of my friends( but maybe I tend to surround myself with extraordinary people), who happens to posess supernatural powers. His dilemmas are bland and boring, his girlfriend isn`t even beautiful in the movie. I don`t understand how it could earn much more money than Star Wars: AOTC, which had fantastic visuals , trully a work of art.

Kirsten Dunst with dyed red hair isn't beautiful?!?!!!

You got some pretty high standards for beauty ... for a game geek. :\

To some that I talked to, they were put off by a very whiny Anakin Skywalker, the young adult who is soon to become Darth Vader (with the calm voice of James Earl Jones). IOW, no one can relate to him.

That and the second appearance of Jar Jar Bink. *shudders*

It's relatable to all of us. That's the appeal. Everyone has felt like the outsider, the one that everyone laughs at just for being different. Everyone has then wanted to be able to eliminate those feelings by being a superhero, being larger than life. Spider-Man is the personification of that, and it doesn't even stop there, since the very first message the comic (and movie) give is that being a superhero doesn't make those feelings (or any of your problems) go away...Peter finds that out the hard way when he loses his uncle Ben.

Honestly, no other superhero does that (at least not as well). Superman is the manifestation of perfection we all ostensibly try for but never achieve (nor should expect to); you never see Clark Kent being picked on in school (Smallville notwithstanding). Same thing for Batman/Bruce Wayne, if he ever got over the tragedy of his parents' death, he'd live the life we all want, rich, not too famous, with everything he could ever desire (honestly, Bruce, get some therapy and move on with your life!)

I'll say she looked great in the first film - but in the preview for Spidy 2, she looks really bad. Sickly, tired, and just generally blech.

I hope its just in that scene and she looks a bit better.

Erge - he who has high standards for a gamer geek ;)

I have to agree, in all the previews I have seen she does look a bit washed out.

June 30th??!?! YES!!! I'm moving the 1st of July, and was worried I'd have to wait a while to see Spidey 2...but the 30th? HAH! I can see it when it comes out! Weeeee!
