That is big news considering how profitable Spider-Man is, but not really surprising when you look at the last two Spider-Man films and the projects Sony wanted to make (e.g. Young Aunt May prequels).

Civil War should be the film he appeares in, considering how much he was involved in that storyline.

Hopefully this means Wolverine will make an appearence in the MCU, call Cap a virgin, brawl with the Hulk and drink whiskey with Stark. And kill Hawkeye. He needs to die.

OMG I wonder if young May will make an appearance in Agent Carter

Wolverine is overexposed

Wolverine is overexposed

Totally agree.
While I'm very much into the genre, wolverine as a character gets so much central attention that it irks me..... Then again, I admit I'm probably not in the demographics for who the studios really care about when they market wolverine as the poster boy ;-)

From my understanding Civil War will be where Spider-man shows up with a new actor in the role,it's also interesting that Marvel is slowly killing the comic lines on the other characters whose movie rights they don't own. The FF is slated to end this year, before the movie. The writers for X-men have been told no new characters and no toys either.

I expect it actually means that Sony's tossing out its plans - the past two Spider films have not turned out well for them, and Marvel's team has shown clear ability to give the public what they want. Yes, they keep creative control, but if they can rake in moolah without doing the work, they aren't going to mind.

Less likely. The more recent X-films have done well - they seem to know what to do with the X-Men, and so are less likely to shift development.

So true - don't think Sony had a handle on Spider-Man but also wonder IF the hack had some impact.
