Spiders in Drow of the Underdark

You forgot. It's third-grade material, I assure you.

I think I'll go get my textbooks. I think I still have them somewhere (wasn't that long ago that I used them. Just over 15 years or so). And I think some of my younger cousins are in third grade.

Or a bird with fangs in a D&D book?

Someone must draw this monster now!

Those are equally unimportant but equally stupid.

A little more noticable, though, I'd say.

As far as fantasy art and anatomical correctness goes...Spider-Man shoots webbing from his wrists...

If I'm looking at a biology textbook, then yeah, it ought to be accurate. If it's a fantasy book of any sort...I want it to look cool, anatomical and politcal correctness be darned.

And let's not even get into their depictions of ettercaps . In the real world, they look nothing like the artists' depictions in the D&D books! I mean, seriously, where's the ice cream and the 15 noses?

Or maybe I'm the only one who sees them...this could explain a lot.

Quoted For Truth! ;)

I've got your back, OP. Stuff like this bugs me too. And yes, it is definitely grade-school material, I have known the differences between spiders and insects at least since 3rd grade, if not earlier.

But then again, I'm the sort of person who writes a multi-page message board post complaining about the fact that Dark Age of Camelot had corn in the art for the player housing, despite it ostensibly taking place before the discovery of the Americas. (OK, so there were lots of other anachronisms in the post as well, but for some reason the corn is what burned me like elven rope.)

This thread is approaching a critical mass of win.

Oh, and a little side note. Chickens can have teeth. It's just rare, leading to the expression. Not much of a stretch to give it fangs.
