Spiked Chain Multiclassing Feat

First Post
With the SCMF you can treat a spiked chain as a light bladed off hand double weapon.

So when I use an attack power can I;

  • Decide that I am using the Spiked Chain as a Two-Handed Reach Flail or decide that I am using the Spiked Chain as a Double Off-hand Light Blade, or
  • consider the Spiked Chain a Two-Handed Off-hand Reach Light Blade Double Weapon Flail?

A seems fair, easy and RAI, but keywords do stack for everything else... so is the B RAW?

Probably B, right now. Though the most recent update added the stout property to certain (but not all) double weapons, which lets them be treated as a two-handed weapon.

For sure, with Spiked Chain Training, you treat the spiked chain as a reach light blade AND flail all the time. I don't think those descriptors are mutually exclusive. The only thing I would waffle on is the two-handed and double (with off-hand coming along for the ride).

Well, they just errataed all the other double weapons, and said that they'd fix the Spiked Chain and Staff Fighting feats to match. So whatever the RAW is right now, it isn't likely to last too long anyway.

The feat was always sort of vaguely worded, but I think it's B until the errata for it comes down.

I think WotC mentioned this (and possibly staff training) as 'on the list' for the next round of errata. I.E. it'll be fixed to work like other double weapons and hopefully correctly stated.
