You can actually move it anywhere--remember that you can target empty squares, since there could be something invisible there.

Given the wording of the spell that it attacks as a sustain minor and you only move to 'another target', I would very much argue the intent is that it autofollows.

RAW I'd waver a little - in the past I was convinced it doesn't follow but now I'm actually leaning much more to thinking that it does... either way I'd just rule that it does unless the player strongly wanted their power to work less well.

It's that wording and the fact that it gives combat advantage to allies that makes me think it does autofollow.

Hi,

Target: One creature
Attack: Wisdom vs. AC

Hit: 1d10 + Wisdom modifier damage.

Effect: You conjure a weapon that appears in the target’s square and attacks. Your allies gain combat advantage against the target. You can move the weapon up to 10 squares to another enemy’s square, within range, as a move action. The weapon lasts until the end of your next turn.

Sustain Minor: When you sustain the power, repeat the attack. Your allies continue to gain combat advantage against the weapon’s target.

As far as I can tell the wording implies it does not auto-follow, since it specifies "You can move the weapon up to 10 squares to another enemy's square"

The initial target is "one creature" and the initial attack is "target" which could be enemies or allies, but the move action portion of the effect is specifically vs. enemies.
