Spongebob Squarepants Movie reviews

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie starts here January 6 and um I may have missed it but has anyone posted reviews comments on it here?

If you have seen it, how was it? Would it be painful to watch as overlong extended stupidity, or is it truely inspired comic genius?

Will it appeal to my (not quite) 5 yr old son (he's 5 in February)

and more Importantly will it appeal to me?

My 4 yr old liked it. I however... :( . There were VERY few moments that almost had me laughing out loud. I really like the show but the movie is NOT for adults. I think if may just be the worst movie I have seen in the last four years. That is not saying much though because I haven't seen many movies in that time span.

Any movie that has David Hasselhoff launch a talking sponge and shorts-wearing starfish deep into the ocean by wedging them between his pectoral muscles and clenching said muscles together....

What more could a movie-goer ask for?

For some reason I just cen't seem to fathom why Spongebob is so popular.

Ditto for DBZ, Medabots, Digimon, Power Rangers...

He's cute, and absorbent. And he just makes you laugh.

I know how you feel though. I could never figure out why there are those, hard core adult Harry Potter fans. These people creep me out.

I will try and watch this, even if it is only on DVD.

@Mystery Man I think when people get into to anything to much it gets scarry.

I didn't like the movie but my 3 and 5 year old sons did. I like the TV show but I don't think they did the best job of translating Spongebob to the big screen. It really dragged on and on.

Because media tells the kids it's cool... and therefore it is. ;)

Bye
