spontaneous magic and rapid metamagic feat

If you take the feat Rapid Metamagic, does it allow a Sorcerer to use the quicken feat? I like reading everyone’s thoughts, it gives me a different perspective, but it’s nice to know when a comment is quoting official sources and when it is opinion.
Based on the wording of the 2 feats, my guess is a spontaneous spell caster could use quicken if they have taken Rapid Metamagic

Rapid Metamagic allows you to apply metamagic to spells cast spontaneously without an increase in casting time. The barrier to applying Quicken Spell is that after you reduce the casting time, its reincreased. When you remove that barrier, Quicken Spell is just as applicable as any other metamagic feat.
