I have always wanted to try the Spring Attacking Rogue trick. The tactical level options are enormous.
If you can boost your movement up a tad you can get that Sneak Attack and move away from the nasty full iterative counterattack. A race with a 20' movement reduces the glory of Spring Attack substantially, so I would shy away from there.
Another way to get a tactically similar feel is Scout or Fighter/Scout. The Fighter/Scout is a very nice combo for Spring Attack -- you get a movement boost, a some skirmish damage dice, and the option to go with the Greatsword pumped by Weapon Focus/Specialization. In a messy melee, you can set up a lot of Cleaves and get double duty from those Skirmish dice.
