Spring!

Huh. We're going to Disneyworld in two weeks too.

Thats a bit of a coincidence. My husband and my 5 yr old and his family (mother's, aunts, cousins) are going> Leaving me and my 2 year old here. The 2 yr old is actually staying with my mom for the week so I will be mostly alone. You should all probably see me on here way more than normal from the large amounts of bordom and lonlieness i will be feeling.

I grew up not far from Syracuse (Oneonta) and can confirm the seasons. The ground cover was generally either snow, mud, or (for a couple of weeks in July) grass.

Now I live right next to Lake Erie, and the lake tends to push the seasons back by about a month. Spring gets here in late April becasue that's how long it takes the lake to start warming up and warm weather stays through the end of October because that's how long it takes the lake to cool off.

Crocuses are our vanguard flowers, with daffodils backing them up. The crocuses just started blooming last week, but only the yellow ones... The purple and the white ones are no where to be seen...

You know, as much as I would love to live in a warm place all year round, at least I have a job where I get the nicest part of the year off. For the first time in 9 years I'm not going to run my school's library for the summer school program this summer; I can hardly wait...
