Spycraft 2.0 is awesome!

It might be worth copying the text from the PDF and putting it into excel, so that you can sort it as you wish.
Yeah, I already thought of that and started, but the text isn't tagged as columns, so you just get a line of non-formatted text per entry :(

And, as Henry noted, it would be even nicer with the associated stats...

Well, we can't give away the entire gear section now, can we? ;) Besides, that would lead to more page-flipping, which is what this PDF is intended to prevent. A group with the book and the caliber tables can plow through quite quickly now.

True - having the (free) PDF in the first place is a nice bonus. I'll make a note of the error I'm getting trying to print it (on the PC without access to EN World) and post on here (when I get back to my own PC - tomorrow evening). I know it prints part of the document then gives up with some error. It may be because of its size?

Cheers,
Liam

NOW, my only other gripe is if the gear tables were broken up via web enhancements in several different ways:

1. By time period
2. by caliber in-line with stats
3. by category
etc.

A sortable and printable spreadsheet would be ideal for this purpose!

Now this I can agree with!

As for the previous character generation issue... I am ashamed to say that the first character I generated was a recreation of Marv fom Sin City... I saw the feat Too Ugly to Die, and had to give it a whirl... :p

The Auld Grump

At first, I disagreed with the fact that Too Ugly to Die requires a CHA of 13 or higher, but then I thought of Marv, and realized that he was, indeed, pretty likeable, even if he was ugly as heck... :D

Have I got the class for you! Check out the Spycraft FAQ thread's Ten Thousand Bullets post (about halfway down) for the Thug preview, which, as I worked through what the epitome of a thug would be, turned out to be Marv :) My feeling is Marv could pretty much go straight Thug thru his career, with Too Ugly to Die, Guts, the Brawling feat tree and Unarmed proficiency and do pretty well for himself :)

Hmm. I'm not sure if it's size, version (what version of Reader do you have?) or some other weird feature. I'll ping folks and see what's doin' :)
Here's the PC spec:

Hardware: Compaq Deskpro EN733
CPU: Intel Pentium III, 733MHz
RAM: 512Mb
OS: Windows XP Pro, SP1
Adobe Reader 7.0.3

Acrobat processed it and sent it all off for printing, it printed up to page 309, then I got the following error message back across the network:

Document 'spycraft_2.0_-_pick_tables.pdf' was not printed.
Document type not supported.

The text on page 309 is very hard to make out. Don't know if that's a clue. It's entirely reproducible - I've tried to print it 3 or 4 times now with different printer settings (single/double sided, scaled/unscaled).

Cheers,
Liam

I just got this today as a gift, my biggest gripe is the slightly misleading (or perhaps my expanded expectations) as a "cinematic modern toolkit."

With the past 1.0 having psionics and ritual magic and 2.0 mentioning the genres of horror and post apoc, I was expecting a small set of rules or villians for supernatural powers.

The "Available Now!" plug for DI on page 415 was over the top. That said, I've got d20 Adventure! and d20 Trinity along with the G.R. Psychic Handbook that I think will mesh real nice with 2.0 and offer different power levels of play.

On the other hand, at almost 500 pages, where were they going to put supernatural rules?!? Since there doesn't seem to be much comment on the "missing" stuff, I'll chalk it my own personal tastes. Not a deal breaker, though.
