[SPYCRAFT]: Mission Budgets?

Dieter

First Post
Having to wait for the Spycraft rulebook (I think the local gaming stores got like 2 in stock last Friday), I need to know a few things that I'm sure the full rules clearly elaborate.

1) How to you calculate a mission budget?
2) Is there a chart based on the mission color, or is it based on the number/type of agents involved?

Thanks

First you roll 2D4 and multiply it by your charisma modifier. This can yield a negative number and of course always result in 0 if your charisma modifier is 0.

Then you add you class budget bonus.

Finally you add the threat code budget bonus.

Yes, there is a chart based on the mission color. You'll see the numbers soon enough.

Every member of the team gets his own mission budget based on the mechanic I described. These ressources can be pooled together if the agents wish, and so can the gadget points allocation. Only the personal budget must be spent on yourself.

In my experience, players don't mind too much sharing their mission budget. Last session the Snoop had a mission budget of 39 whereas the soldier's was 17. If you consider that the snoop also had a higher personal budget, lending some budget point was much appreciated by the soldier. OTOH players tend to be much more possessive of their gadget points. Not many would share those.

Merci!

It's really hard running a full game with the Lite rules. I should have the real thing by the end of the week.

Question: What is the class modifier based upon?

Depending on the class it's 1, 2 or 3 budget point every level.

Snoops and Facemen are rich, Soldiers, Wheelmen and pointmen are rich and fixers are poor.
