Stacking DR?

However, DR of the same type stacks. A barbarian wearing Adamantine armor adds the armor's DR to his DR. This might only happen with DR X/-, though.

I don't think that's right. You only take the best one.

Besides, doesn't the Barbarian not want to wear heavier armors?

I've been wrong before, but I always thought it worked that way.

Patryn quoted the rule - they don't stack. There's nothing in the description of Adamantine or of Barbarians to indicate an exception.

So the stoneskin is wasted on a paladin with Blessing of Bahamut ?

Stoneskin on a barbarian with DR 1/-, too ?

Say a Dinosaur hits the paladin for 25 damage. He still takes 15 points of damage despite his two damage reductions ?
And the Barbarian would receive 15 Damage, too, instead of 14.

Well... a pity. Always played it wrong...:\

Adamantine Barbarian sounds like a Warforged.

Anyway, yeah. You always just take the best. I doubt an extra 1 or 2/- breaks the game, though.

Am wrong or I did I once see a table that listed a kind of heirarchy for overcoming DR?

If so could someone post it.

I think more the former than the latter. I could see epic overcoming magic, though.

Entirely possible, oh, and sorry or the off-topic post (sprang into my head and didn't thinkit worth a new topic).

Possibly in 3E.

Magic beat DR X/Silver in 3E, but Silver didn't beat DR X/+E.

+2 beat DR X/+1 or +2. +3 beat DR X/+1 or +2 or +3.

So there was a hierarchy of DRs in 3E.
