Stacking DR?

Hm, well, this makes some encounters (especially epic ones) somewhat harder. So be it.

IIRC, some epic monsters had (before they were errated) two types of DR, e.g. 30/+7 and if that fails (because someone attacks with a +7 weapon) something like DR 9/- kicks in.

The ruling that a barbarian's DR does not stack with other types of DR makes not really sense to me. I mean, the bbn is capable of shrugging off damage because he gets used to wounds. Is that ability negated when a wizard casts Stoneskin on the barbarian???

No, they just overlap. Look, barbarian DR doesn't actually make any sense anyway, but the idea is that DR is hardness, and hardness-giving effects don't overlap, you just use the best one. Barbarians are well 'ard to start with, their innate 'ardness doesn't stack with spell granted 'ardness.

Yeah. Or think of it this way: Stoneskin makes your skin hardness 10. No matter what it was before, it makes your skin hardness 10. If you had skin with hardness 15 before, then your skin does't get weaker.
