Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

It's nice to see you back after the disappointment of last year, TB.

I wish there was some hope that we'd see Number 44 back on the ice by the second round, but we'll make do.

I'd say go Flyers, but I'm convinced they'll suck just like every other year and find a way to lose, so what's the point?
Well we won game 1. Admittedly it could have been better in the third but 2 periods, the Flyers OWNED the Devils. That's something any Fly fan can be happy about, especially with no Desjardin.

Round 2 Predictions

East

Tampa Bay-Montreal.
I hate to say it, but Tampa Bay in 5.

Philly-Toronto
Belfour in 6. :-) Local hospitals may end up being the big winners in this series.

West

Denver-San Jose
Avs in 7.

Detroit-Calgary
Well Calgary's got even more heart than they've got injuries, but Detroit's still Detroit. Red Wings in 6 extremely competitive games.

(who was 5 for 8 in series wins in the first round, for what that's worth)

Yeah... I'm just glad we made it this far. It's gonna take a few years before the habs can come back from their decade of mediocrity. Looking good though.

And again, because I made it and I'm proud of it:

Well, it's looking like there's a good chance for San Jose and Tampa Bay winning in 4.

Damn. Both of them are good teams who play a decent style of game, but I was hoping for a Detroit-Avs series and held a faint hope that the Habs would start a comeback year and challenge Ottawa and Toronto for supremacy among Canadian clubs in the east.

I knew the Avs would not due well in the second round. They did not play well in the first round, and only made it to the second round because of the complete melt down of the Stars at the end of the season. They just never played consistantly in the first round.

That's exactly what I've been hoping wouldn't happen, I'm sick of those two (and the Devils, but I hate them to begin with).

Oh and I'd put the Habs up there with the Sens and Leafs, maybe a step below, but their looking bad at the moment because Tampa's playing really well right now and they're a good team to begin with.
