Star Trek RPG

I liked Prime Directive, myself, but the FASA version was pretty doggone good.

Notice- it seems to be everyone's #2 choice!

Not everyones #2 choice :)

I prefer the original series Star Trek films (1-6) which I think FASA Star Trek fits very well!

[text formating]As someone who’s main RPG has been Star Trek since 1983

FYI, those of us that use with the stealth skin (white background) can't read your post without highlighting the text.

Screwing with colors and font when there's no need to is a pet peeve of mine. This is one reason why.

FASA's TCS..Its all about the ships, man. Its all about the ships.

This was the Star Fleet Battles game? I think this had a rpg component and the game was overall deadly. Deadly at PC battles and ship battles were as well. Everytime we got together, the Enterprise would beat our foe, but had so much damage that we had to abandon ship as we had a warp core breach. That was a fun game.

I made up a character for the Unicorn Games system, but nothing every materialized in terms of actually playing the game.

I don't think Marshall means Star Fleet Battles - I think he means Star Trek III Combat Simulator Game which was the FASA "bolt on" to the RPG. It was a fun game in itself but didn't really mesh well with the RPG IMHO.

Tactical Combat Simulator. FASA made fantastic wargames and seriously flawed RPGs.

With the exception of Star Trek Starship Combat Simulator and its ridiculous three-phases-per-turn sequence.

You would think they would use something as simple and fast-paced as their BattleTech/AeroTech system.

Even Battletech used multiple phases per turn. If you had TSM the heat phase bared a striking similarity to the power allocation phase.

Battlespace was relatively simple. Aerotech was a nightmare.
